Hi, dear mylotters! I would like to ask you something. Is it possible to sell images without copyright (that are not mine but downloaded from other sites) to a particular website? It is because I need an image for an article that I am writing and that I want to sell to a site, but I do not own any images for that article, so I need to download images from a site to sell it together with my article. If anyone knows the answer, please let me know. Thank you very much and have a nice day.

Is it possible? Yes. Is it legal? NO. Why would you even wonder if this is ok? You would be commiting a copyright violation which is a crime.

it would be like stealing something from your neighbor's garage and selling it at your own yard sale.

He is talking about images WITHOUT copyright so why do you talk about stealing? I know a member from a forum, he has download 900 Haloween images without copyright, he has regrouped them in a zip file and sell one pack for 19$ and he has succeed to get some sales with that.

Although someone puts a picture online without copyright it doesn't mean someone else can take it to make money on it. If you write something on your webpage and don't put "don't publish this anywhere else" it's still not legal for someone else to publish it again. Same for pictures.

The new copy right laws of 2009 make this a huge problem. If you are not 100% sure those photo's are open source, like from a site that you can join and use their photo's for a one time charge, you better not get caught using them . The fine's and or lawsuit can be very expensive. The new laws make the proof land on you that you are using open source or right to rebublish pictures. If you know who's picture it is you can ask for permission and probably get it. I have many times asked owners of a picture for use and have gotten their permission with accreditation. There are a lot of photo/picture sites out there that you can pay a small fee and use their photo's then if someone comes back on you you send them directly to the site you purchased the rights from. It is the equivelent of stealing.

hi ! I think it is possible, but I don't think someone will buy them, because when some company or some person pays for a photo, he asks for a photo with original resolution, which means good photos, which can be sold must have at least 10MP resolution and also if the owner of the photo catches you, you will have very big problems with the law, so better don't try it
