In the post 9/11 world whn the west particularly began to judge the whole basket by a few bad apples and put a whole community under the scanner because of their religious orientation, Rizvan Khan( Shah Rukh Khan), the man who suffers from Asperger,s Syndrome, the man who cant stand loud noises and the man who is scared of venturing into places he isn,t used to and can barely cross a road without the risk of being hit by a speeding vehicle, he braves racial discrimination, arrest, and even torture at the hands of the US authority only because he is driven by deep love for his estranged wife Mandira(Kajol) from whom he is parted with the promise that he won,t return till he has met the president. The movie touches you, moves you, makes you cry, gives you goose pimples, and enlightens you with its message. Karan Johan, the czar of popcorn romances, leaps into a new territory and dewels into a serious subject without totally slithering out of his old skin. While the ist half of the film is as good as it could be, but the second half goes into downward slope at many times. But the performance of the King Khan was at its very best, there was a never luk of flambouant attitude of king khan, his blushes as that of child and other expressions as of a bit childish nature. The story touches upon a no. of issues like the communal riots, love and compasson. Jimmy shergil also comes up with fine performance, but my salutations to the man who breathes life and soul into the movie - the king khan. And I say it as much from the bottom fellings of my haert. I think others feel the same way is it so ?
