talking about discussions, i could see that for ones, who feels conected with the topic presented on the discussion, make very interesting responses in where u could see that they apreciated your time and the topic we are talking, and the effort we made on this, (for example, english is not my mother tongue, and i try to explain my ideas the best i can), and for others, the oonly important is to make comments to improve his mark and possition on mylot community...
sometimes we could see that some people made posts that the content has no sense with the most important idea on the discussion.. have u ever seen this here? i have seen it!
but for you, when you make a discussion, whats are your expectations? how many members commented there or the quality of this comments?
whats about u?
can you share with us your opinion?
thanks!!

I like to have fun at mylot, to make new friends, to learn new things. The money I get is a well appreciated extra. I understnd your problem as English is not my native language either. But I try to express myself as best as I can. I don´t really care much about the people who do otherwise and I don´t check how much they gain either (which is something that I could notdo anyways). My star goes up and down, sometimes I make the minumum, sometimes I don´t. None of this is relevant for me. I come here every morning to have breakfast with my friends here. THAT is important to me.
And many times I have seen that the number AND quantity of posts grow while you are talking away with your friends, the way you would if you had invited them for tea.
Take care, friend.

¡Soy chilena! You can PM me in Spanish as it is not allowed to make discusions in other languages besides English. I show my country and South America in the interest "travel". There are many people interested in other countries. You can tell other people about Uruguay. Just now there´s a post about native dresses. One of my friends started it. But so many people thing all South America is tropical. I told that we imported the bananas, mangos and pineapples.
Take care! ¡Nos vemos!

I go for the quality. QUALITY OVER QUANTITY, well this idea is applicable to everything, the numbers of responses make no sense if you cannot get anything from it. Usually my post yield 2 to responses so far as I'm back here on MyLot and I am contented on it as long as those answers have 'hearts'. Like you, my native language is not English too, so I have always tried to response to the best I can.

hi! I think the quality of the responses is more important in one discussion, because you can get 100 responses in yours, and if they all are something like "yeah, me too", "hi, yes i have done this" or something like that, then how can you comment on that response? that's why better getting less responses, but qualitative ones, than getting more, but don't worth

"are you sure?" or "the mouse eaten your tongue?" or "whats up" could be your answers for this questions, lol! but is true, when i see this type of comments, i think "omn! whats going on with this guy?", the comment doesnt have nothing positive, nothing to learn, nothing to do.. of course, like u said, i prefer to have less and good comments and not to have a million like "yes!" "dbñuhbvñeiuha" or "..." lol!
thanks friend to share your opinion with me! have a n ice day

I wish I was one of those people that could post away on anything, but I'm not :(. Instead sometimes I actually read entire discussion's and realize that I really have nothing to say on the matter. I like to take my time to answer and give my opinion on things. Might as well, since I'm at work anyways :D

Hi..alilin
In my opinion quality of the discussion is more important than the quantity. I never used to respond all the disucssions to earn money. My policy is that I will respond to discussion only when I can add some value to it. Otherwise I will go through the topic and discussion and I skip it. Even I noticed some people those who are posting the same comment for all the responses. So it is better not to jump into all discussions.

Hi Alilin, great discussion! I think the quality of the response matters the most rather than just how many responses. I don't think the responses always have to be huge ones as long as they get the point across. I think the best responses and discussions are when people put time into it, and you can tell they really invested in their discussion or response. I think it's great that even though English isn't your first language you brought up an awesome discussion!

alilin you s eem to be doing very well for a person with English as their second language. I seem to think you are saying some comments do not show that they understand the discussion, yes I get those at times and I feel that they replied the way they did because they did not read all my discussion. yes I think the comments and the responses should both be guality but also show that each party understands the discussion and has responded or commented in a way that show both persons understood the discussion and did their best. The more you make good comments on all the responses to your discussions, the better for all concerned, not so much number of comments but the quality of both comment and response too. happy mylottin. alilin

Most people here and the guidelines is clearly pronounce that quality is the best things. But in my long stay here I notice that sometimes all is possible. Quality is only a factor or a plus to make earnings...
Quality discussion, comments, and response is all the same. If they rated your comments as best it will earn some...
What important I must say to make more here is constant participation and heavy posting...

im not sure that a heavy post could be the better.. i would write things with no sense and make a post about 50 lines.. the idea is to be constant and if we can do better discussions and responses, is better! thanks to share your opinion with me!
have a nice day

Heavy posting is really a good help to make us residual income here but make sure that all your comments is not deleted due to violation of some guidelines. Because there are discussion that is violating rules here...
Base on my experience here that is what I see. If not interrupt you be sure to always read the FAQ to ensure there is no violation on the part of the guidelines of posting...
Because the discussion you are commented is deleted that is deducted in your points. Have a great day, my friend...

since every post we have here is equivalent to money then admin always make sure that every topic and post are in good quality an most be long. the numbers of post will help you to earn more thats why most members just keep on posting to earn a lot though they didnt realized that a one liner post is not qualified to earn. sometimes or most of the time, admin deleted the post.

Hallo... at first I thought when we post a question, then the more responses will get more paid,I was so delighted when one of my topic reached 60+ responses, but I wonder why the earning not increased. Later I just find out that we'll just be paid by answering more questions, or answer to those responses.Of course I try to answer with something contains quality . Now I just answer to those "no response" or "hot responses" with the topic that I am interested. And seldom think to start any new topic. Happy Mylotting!!!

The quality of the response is more important than the quantity or length of the answer. It is best to elaborate your answer further so that other mylotters can relate to what you are trying to express, but stay on the topic and as much as possible answer the questions being asked by the one who started the discussion.

I think is quality , but I'm not really good writing so i prefer quantity.
For me it's so hard to explain my ideas in a txt becauce i'm very visual . You know long time ago one author wrote bout characters to learn or how u can express yourself , his name is Howard Gardner.
For visual people is more easy to draw or imagine the things to explain or understand it. But I really like the idea to know people by here, and discuss many things in my lot.

like you english is not my mother tongue but when i put a comment i try to put or explain my self the best i can sometimes i know that i dont say all the things i would like to say because of my english but i apreciate best response that a lot of them because like you say i can have a lot of comments but they dont say nothing at all. so i think the most important is the quality of the comment and not the number of them

yes, is harder to people like u and me that eglish is not the mother tongue.. i thinkthat explaining the ideas the best we can is better than write and do all with the exaclty grammar and spelling and bla bla bla,, here i could learn a lot of words, lot of common phrases ! is wonderful this!
thanks for share your opinion with me!

When I post a discussion, I try to be as clear as possible as per the topic and see to it that every one will be able to understand the subject of the discussion easily. Then it is left to the person who is reading it. When I read other person's discussion, I do not see for the English mistake or sentence formation mistake. I try to understand what the person wanted to convey and then put forth my response. Why should we bother about the language mistake? Are we teachers here?

For me it depends on the topic, for example some topics require a helpful answers that can really help someone out of a dilemma or situation and in those cases the responds can be really important, but other topics only require opinions. so it just depends on the subject matter of the topic, but in order to get any responses at all the topic has to be interesting to others as well as ourselves so ultimately the topic is the most important starting point in mylot, so I guess if your talking about over all mylot performance a good topics is most important but if your talking about personal preference it depends on the topic.

We all like to get a lot of responses but it's about quality for me. I really enjoy discussions with depth. Those are my least responded to though. I love to have fun with my friends here too though. It's very admirable that you are so active and having to do it outside your own language. I respect your efforts and you are very well spoken. Take care.

of course, is wonderful when we received 68534431465 comments, but if this commetns are the type of "yess" "mee too!" "i have done this" "for me is better this than this because i said it" and this type of comments has no sense for me because not give us nothing to learn, nothing positive, is like an empty comment!
friend, thanks for yours words to me, thanks to apreciated my effort, i try to do the best i can (and sometimes i feel like a native like the western movies --my respect to them-- because i feel that i cant xpress the hole idea i think in english, lol)... thanks to respomnnd and shared your opinion with me! have anice day

When I hear the quantity or quality debate I always think of Quantity of Quality.

When it comes to discussions, quality is of the utmost importance. Anyone can get a number of responses. It's the heart that is put into the discussion that should be searched for.
