Tapestry is a form of weaving. Cross-stitch is embroidering. But I suppose you could call cross-stitch tapestry because you're in a way weaving the thread over the cloth. But you can't call tapestry cross-stitch because you don't weave in XXXs but horizontals...

I have not heard of this work you are doing. I’ve seen the picture and I must say I am impressed; I could not do anything like that! How long have you been working on it? My late mother in law used to make beautiful cross stitchings. We have one that my daughter will treasurer forever that she made, it has Beatrix Potter pictures and my daughter’s name and date of birth, it’s really lovely. The Young Botanist is coming along beautifully!
