I have a friend who has a (what i like to call) an unhealthy attachment to his cat. Like this cat runs his life, everything that he dose revolves around this cat. He puts it before himself, his other pets, even his girlfriend and job. I don't know if all men are like this, i don't know many men with cats, i do know a couple, but my friend will get down on his hands and knees and kiss his cat as she walks around him, he will position himself where ever he is sitting or lying to, to make the cat comfortable, he has even told me he went a night without blankets cause his cat was sleeping on them and he didn't want to disturb her. there are so many more stories i could tell about his relationship with his cat, but i don't want to seem like i'm judging him.
Do you think this is unhealthy?? i know he loves the cat and all, but i think he's taking it a bit to far sometimes and it really makes me wonder what he would do if anything happened to the cat. Hes a close friend of mine and i'm just worried about him and the situation.
What do you think??

Having five cats I can relate to that. I'll quite often not move because I don't want to disturb one of them, but sleeping without blankets because the cat is sleeping on them seems a bit extreme. I'd move the cat to use the blankets and the cat would probably then move onto the bed and go back to sleep. I usually sleep with two or three cats each night and have to turf them off the bed in the first place so that I can get in myself. They all then get back on and usaully wedge themselves up against me for the warmth.

my mum, is forever up and down during the night to the dogs. she has 2 whippets, and they both like to be covered over and will let u know when they get uncovered. but we dont let them, run our lives.
it does seem a bit unhealthy, loving a cat so much. i'd make the cat move and get comfy again, so i can have the blankets and sleep. might be worth seeing about professional advice.

There are alot of people that put their animals first rather than themselves.Alot of people can relate better to animals rather than humans and the real world.I know a person that would rather sleep with the dog in a spare room cramped up in a bed as in a single bed with a labrador rather than the bed with their partner in.There are alao people out there that would spend alot of money on a pet rather than food or bills as well. All i can say is i hope that people are there to suport your friend when the cat passes away as i think that is going to be really hard on your friend.Try getting your friend to go out more rather than being in the house with the cat.
