do you SEEK approval before doing something?

i am in a country where words of the elders are supposed to be respected. our folks' words hold such respect that we seek their advices before we make our own decision. what about you, do you still seek advise ang approval of your folks before you decide on something?

To be true let me tell you take advice of everyone but do what your heart says.... I do take advice of my friends, parents and relatives but I do as my heart says because heart / inner conscious will never ditch you... Ofcouse the words of elders needs to be respected and obeyed as they speak out of experience...

true and correct. words of the elders should be respected because they burn our from experiences but still our very own heart should be followed. what matters most is how responsible we are in our decisions and the triumphs and consequences attached to it. thanks SM, see you around. take care

as for me i dont think so, i used to make decision out of my own including my choice of course in college, my choice of living my own and etc. its my life anyway and as long as im not doing anything that will ruin their trust then no problem with it.

I wont seek any approval but I respect their advices.But i make my own decisions.
