What weird thing do you do before going to bed?

I have to run my hands under hot water and dry them before bed. Not wash, you know with soap, just hold them under hot water. I love the way it feels.
My sweet Mama has to do the same ritual.
Here's the weird part... she is my Birth Mom and we didn't meet until I was 33!!
What's your weird thing? Is it hereditary like mine or learned?

Feet are funny, aren't they? I tend to need my feet uncovered, but the covers tucked tightly under my rear... Now in the summer I love to stick feet under the covers and move them to all the cool spots then on top of covers!
Aren't we wonderfully and weirdly made?!

I have this weird habit of fixing the sheets and pillow arrangements and make sure they are neatly placed on the bed before I go to sleep. I can't just lie on the bed and sleep if it's messy.

I feel the same way you do. I can't sleep in a messy bed, either. If my sheets are too messed up, I always take them off and redo them before I go to bed. That way, they don't get too tangled up when I pull them up, etc. It won't be such a hassle in this case. Kathy.

I have heard of long lost twins doing that..but it is great that after so long that you can meet her. I don't really do anything weird before bed really..I used to love to take a hot shower and go to bed...or read a little bit before turning the lights off..but nothing considered weird..

I can go to sleep almost anywhere! Tonight I had a friend over and I fell asleep during a commercial. Just ONE. It was weird!
I'm usually too tired to take a shower at night.... I'd probably sleep in there too!

When I was working and we had to get up at 4 am and leave by 5am just to get to work before 6 am since work started at 6am..and not get off till 6 pm..there were many nights I fell asleep while taking a bath...lucky I didn't drown, but guess I was lucky that my mom always woke me up..and the water was always cold..lol

Haha that's funny that you and your birth mom share the same ritual at bedtime..lol I have my own little thing I do. First I get into bed on my back and just relax for a couple of minutes. Next I roll onto my right side and do my thinking or get out my worries etc. After about 5 or 10 minutes of that, I roll onto my left side to go to sleep...lol I used to have a really difficult time falling asleep when depressed so I found this helped. By giving myself a position and amount of time to get my worries out or just let my brain settle from the day.. My body has finally learned that "roll on left side means shut up brain and go to sleep"...lol

PLUS, laying on your left side helps your heart. It doesn't have to work as hard when you're on your left side. They tell pregnant women to sleep on their left side for that very reason! So, your body knows the best way to relax and get optimal blood flow!
Thanks for sharing! I might go try this right now. Nite

Hello spirit_guide! No, I'm not fat, but still on the diet...haha, I mean I jaut want to maintain my ideal weight. Drinking 1 glass of milk before I sleep is my secret to have sound sleep. The good thing also is I have a regular bowel movement in the morning. Kinda health conscious...:))

I have to uncover my pillows that i've carefully covered when riseing because if i leave my bed unmade my little coco will lay her booty up on my pillows sometime during the day and i HAVE to have clean pillow cases. I never asked my mom or dad if they did any of this(have to have clen cases)so, they are gone and i dont know anyway, each night i also have to have water by the bed. at times i wake thirsty. and i always have to take certain meds.

I cannot sleep without drinking a glass of milk and washing my feet. It really feels uncomfortable if i don't do it.

I don't have any weird bedtime rituals that I know of, lol. I just wanted to say, however, that the warm water probably relaxes you. I've heard of people who take a warm bath at bedtime and they say they sleep better, as a result. Kathy.

It seems that I can not dig out such kind of weird thing before going to bed, but I have a bad habit that I loved to pull the whole quilt over my head, particularly in winter. I am not sure whether my parents have this kind of habit or not as I did not sleep with my parents when I was very young.

i don't remember doing weird things before hitting the sack, bearballew. perhaps, in my younger days, i have a share of naughtiness, including doing things before going to bed. now, i only do the routine things, which may only be peculiar, compared to others, but never weird. and bearballew, you're probably writing about a biological mother...

I agree to this! I love bedtime! It's my favorite! That and waking up... the middle can be great or not so great, but waking and sleeping are marvelous!

I have had to rub my feet together and twist my ankles since I was about 11. My spouse kicked feet as a kid. Guess our kids are doomed to be movers and shakers under the covers!

Thats so sweet and great thing you have shared with us. Thanks for the same. Even my mom does some kind of thing. For her prayer is very important. But I don't do anything weird thing. I just lay down and spend thinking and analyzing my day and good things happened to me.

i dont think i do but my son has always loved games. computer games, arcade games, video games, etc. His dad was the same way. We divorced when he was only 9 mo. old. His dad never visited so they dont know each other. But yet they are both gamers.

i have three kids, and they are all grownup now,and their father is also out of their lives since they were kids, and he to loved to play games, and so do my kids, they each have their own kind of game they like to play, and so do i, i like the hidden object games,as well as my daughter, my oldest have the wii and like to play the golf, and bowling games. my baby boy like arcade games, like dragon ball z so again i feel that people choose thing, or do thing that dose not have to do with weather or not their parents did. i have 8 grandkids, ages 2-18 and even they love to play games or with the younger ones try to play.

I don't follow any ritual. I got my habits hereditary. I could not understand 'Birth Mom'. Did you mean the mother who gave you birth? Why you met after 33 years? Am I asking about your personal matter? Please excuse me.

Hey friend. I don't know if it's weird or not, I love to have a cup of lemon-tea with sugar before going to bed at night. It gives me a sensation of happiness. If ever I forget to do so a single day, I feel like missing something. Have a nice day.
