A little bit of cleansed internet consciousness

A lot of people are willing to talk some smack or say things they wouldn't normally say when they're on their computers, hiding behind their concealed identity online. Everyone does it, something about being anonymous makes people more open to say something rude or be critical. Everyone's done it. This is a little place for those who want to be able to just admit it online and maybe feel a little bit better about it :D
Have you done it in a blog? A forum? A discussion? An online video game? Any stories about doing this?

I try to keep my behaviour as real as possible. Since writing my thoughts may produce different outcome than talking, the result may differ in person. I observed that people online tend to be more open to criticism and opinions than in the real world, and so I can be a bit critical when discussing things. People may mistake me for a lunatic if I'm using passionate sentences, but here in this world, no one cares. However, I really don't like to insult people in both worlds.
I usually write my personal experiences in my blog, and I tend to be more open since I know people would actually want to read than having to hear. Besides, it won't hurt if somebody does not want to read my posts, but it hurts a lot if someone does not want to hear my story.
Basically, the internet is the escape-from-reality place for me, but only to certain extend.

Theres always some reason for privacy. There are many evil elements in the world who can take advantage of anything public. Another is that if a person does not say something then its going to be a scandalous void either.

I hate to agree Brotha but you are absolutely right. The sad part about it is that some people take it too far and really hurt or even kill. I dont EVER talk trash unless I can back it up. I dont care if its on a computer, phone, or in person. To me its a coward's way to act if you dont have the balls to say it in front of the person. People talking trash are the reason we have so much violence in the world. Trash talking starts wars. dl

I know a lot of people act nasty on the internet and say things they would never ever say to people in real life. I try to keep it real regardless if I'm online or in real life. I always think there is this slim chance that somehow I might meet the people I chat with and I don't want be different.
I do like to go to the sites where you can make your own world and be somebody else. Then I choose to be a ruler or some other obviously imaginary being. That is fun.

Honestly I'm a very straightforward person, and I would tell you whatever I would say online to your face if we were ever to meet regardless.
And I think it's better to say these things on the internet anyway. That way you know how a person truly feels. I feel people are actually hiding behind masks in real life because they're scared of offending someone or messing up relationships or getting in trouble and whatnot. Of course there are those on the internet who just TRY to be mean to piss people off because it's funny (lol trolls) but usually I feel the person you meet online is more of that person than they are in real life.
I know I am.
