Do you think it is good to cook for our child at home? Or would you rather buy foods for the babies in the shops?

Its a big no no to food from outside shops.Since my baby is 15 months now i can say this and has been told by her pediatrician. Its always better to prepare food at home. One day i gave her a pastry from a good bakery but stil she had continuous loose motions for two three days. From then i stopped everything.

Yes,i think cooking home food is very healthy for kids. When my kids were small i used to make all food at home and avoided all baby food like cerelac ,nestum and etc. Now they are little grown up with little grown up demands like junkies from Pizza Hut and Mc Donalds.I try to make those too with the help of internet cooking ,cook books and friends.I enjoy cooking for them and they enjoy home made food too.

I cooked all my baby meals at home, and I would do it again now if I had another child. I liked knowing exactly what went into them and I think they tasted far nicer than the shop bought alternatives. I was working full time when my first child was small, so I used to cook all the meals on a weekend and freeze them in individual sized portions. Each morning I used to send them to nursery in little labeled pots and by lunchtime they´d have thawed and be ready to warm up. With my second child I froze everything in ice cube trays, which meant that when I needed a meal I could ring the changes by choosing a different selection each time.

I think it is best to prepare our own food for the children. You'll never know what they put in or what they use in the shops, especially Chinese food.

well.. its like hiring a baby sitter.. you will always be on an edge thinking whether your child will be safe under that person.. you never know when that person is gonna get careless, or even ignorant of your child's welfare...

The only pride I boast about when my children were babies was that I prepared all the food they ate. It is not very difficult at all. Babies like some mashed potato or egg, soft rice with a little soup, cereals, and many more. Happy cooking!

I think it's much healthier to make your babies food at home. Not only does it save you money. It also makes less waste from packaging, it's fresher, usually more nutritious and you can control what is added and there won't be a need for preservatives or additives. When my brother was born almost 30 years ago, I was 20years old. I moved back home to help my mother and we never bought jars of baby food unless it was some fruit or something for a vacation or going out somewhere. It took some convincing on my mother's part but it save quite a bit of money and we never really had to make anything special, just not season it the same as adults..lol
