Its impossible to keep your eyes open when you sneeze, your eye automatically close. When I sneeze I sneeze a bunch of times in a row. Sometimes 7 or 8 times, people look at me funny like something is wrong. There isn't nothing wrong its just the way I sneeze. Sometimes bright sunlight will make me sneeze, its a common thing with lots of people.

I read somewhere in one of those useless-but-scientific-facts e-mails that people send me every day, that when we sneeze our heart stops for a split second AND we sneeze with enough pressure to blow our eyes right out of our heads. For these two reasons, it is impossible to sneeze with one's eyes open.

I have very long, drawn out sneezes and no, I don't sneeze with my eyes open. I'm not sure why they close, maybe that's a question for Dr. Oz, lol...but there have been times when I am driving and sneeze and it has concerned me. I can't imagine having to tell a cop that I ran into something because I was sneezing.

When the sun is bright, I have several multiple sneezes. My son said that he learned in biology class that that type of sneeze is an inherited tendency. I also sneeze a few times when I am coming down with a cold, although they do not tend to stay long. I am thankful for that. Good black pepper will make me sneeze. So will the fragrances in the cleaning product row at the store. That is kind of an allergy sneeze. I think most people know that it is not healthy to suppress a sneeze, that doing so will drive bacteria into your nasal passages and sinus. If you need to sneeze, sneeze in your shirt, a tissue or your elbow if possible, in order to not spread germs throughout the area.

No I can't and I do not count my sneezes...so I do not know how many.

Hi Raydene,
When I sneeze it depends on how quickly it happens as to wether I have my eyes open or closed, so I do both open and shut. The reason for it is normally dust or hayfever..LoLo

i will sneeze when i have to sneeze . i have tried to keep my eyes open when i sneeze and i think i cant keep my eyes open when i sneeze . whenever i sneeze my eyes will automatically close and i will not feel anything about closing the eyes i will just feel something in my nose thats all . i dont think i can keep my eyes open when i sneeze because of the pressure we generate when we sneeze . may i will try next when i sneeze
