Bath soap is one commodity which gives one a variety of choices. As you do your grocery shopping, you notice that there are a lot of brands of bath soaps on display. These are also found in a different special section in the department store where we go to each weekend.
In buying a brand of bath soap, what do you always consider? Do you buy because of its price, scent, shape, size, formulation, or on what effects they have on your body?

Hi Saphrina,
Lol ... battling with a bar of soap in the shower. That usually happens to me. It slips from my hand and we play hide and seek at times. hahaha.
Hmmm, showergels may now be an option for me. I haven't really directed my attention to them because I have found a good soap lately. Will check on that on the weekend's shopping schedule.

I have always loved the scent of Irish Spring. I also like to make sure that we use a deodarant soap so that we don't smell like body odor after a shower. Irish Spring is good for that too, and it is one of the more economical soaps out there as well so it fits all my requirements. If I can't get Irish Spring for some reason I will get a similiar soap such as Coast or something like that, something that smells nice and is also deodorizing.

Hi Ladym33,
It is always nice to stick to soaps which we like and those which answer to our needs. There are a lot of soaps out there. Depending on one's choice, it is important that we get good benefits for our body. Then comes the smell and price.

If I am using bar soap in the shower, then I always buy Dove because I feel that it is gentler on my skin than the other varieties that I've tried. However, the majority of the time I use shower gel because I find that it is a lot easier to deal with. I typically use Bath and Body Works shower gels because it's never caused me skin issues and also because of the fact that their products are not tested on animals.

Hi Dorannmwin,
We consider certain things in our choice of soap. I also go for soaps that give good effects on my skin. It might be good to try on shower gels which we do not usually use. We usually have bar soaps here. I remember having a liquid Ivory soap from my sister who visited the country two years ago. We didn't consume its contents yet.

Basically, i buy bath soaps because of its effects on my body, but sometimes my brother and sister give me soaps from abroad which i prefer to use because its free and its imported.

Hi Triplejazzm51,
That is right, lol. We always are lucky to get these free items from our relatives abroad, usually when they come home to our country for a visit. We are always happy to have these small freebies of imported things, lol. (It is a different thing with my husband's nephew who works as nurse in the USA. Once she visits the country, she really buys a big box of supply of a local soap, lol. She says she is just so used to it.)
I am always trying on brands in the market. Lately, I found one good soap which is really good for my dry skin. You are right... we choose soaps because of their effects on our body.
