Do you think school should change up the reading material a bit? Particularly in high school, it seems like having the same book as assigned reading for every given sophomore is really a bad idea. I mean it gets SO easy to cheat if you have the same assigned book- either by finding essays online or by asking someone who had the class last year. Don't you think books like To Kill a Mockingbird, Fahrenheit 451, 1984 and The Great Gatshy are all just so over-read?
I really think literature and reading is a very important part of school; I think its how we learn to interpret things and find meaning and messages behind things in our lives.
I think it might be a good idea if schools were given a huge pool of reading that teachers could chose from- so students read a different book every year.

I think classic literature is some of the best there is. Most modern day books lack the symbolism and level of thought of most classic books. There is a reason why Twilight is not required reading, it is mindless. Whereas a book like The Inferno or Animal Farm forces you to think about what you are reading and what it says about the world.

There should be a change in books every year so that
learning would be exploring and continuing.
Teachers must find ways to find other sources of books
so that students would not be get bored of it. Nor copy
it from a friend who had it for last year.
The administration of that school will look at it ahead
of time before the beginning of the school year.
Or else the instructor or adviser find more ways to have
some research on an internet for new strategies and tecniques
in teaching other than the old ones.
That is part of the innovative way of a teacher in the school.

school should change the teacher's lesson plans. i am sure they are using that years and years ago. i agree on what you are saying about some students no longer read or do their task for it is east to ask or to copy from students before. teachers are also lazy (not all and this is just my opinion) to change their plans and reading material for they dont want to read as well. specially in public school and not only on sophomore this applies for all the teachers

Gosh, I'm sorry I can't help you with this. It's been so long since I was in High School, I can't remember what we read. I know I read only what I had to.

Ugh, completely agree with you olisaur
It seems the school system just love to cling onto a handful of reading material that every year is forced to read. To Kill a Mockingbird is definitely one of the worst culprits of over-read material in school, as well as the obligatory Shakespeare

In my country, tests are different each year. Even though it came from the same book, different teachers will make the exam. Another thing is tests in my school are departmentalized which means every class level will take the test in a selected day and time to prevent cheating :D
