other than online- what did you read today?

I just realized how much I have read today in little snippets! I read Proverbs 10, a short story in a Reader's Digest, my family history (one of them) and now I'm sitting down with a cup of coffee to work on a book I started not long ago. It's called, "Run to glory." So what all have you read today that wasn't online?

I read 8 chapters of Wuthering Heights on audio today. And I also read a few pages of a running book. I wish more running books were on audio.

Good point, especially for people stuck with running on a treadmill. Thanks for the best response!

It would certainly make sense for running books to be on audio. Then we could listen to them on the longer runs!

Part of a piece of mail. I read part of it and got the gist that it had to do with some sort of a clinic, and then I didn't worry about it... Other then that, hmm, a restaruaunt menu, signs on the road to the restauraunt... eh... expiration dates on food... labels on cleaning supplies...

I've read actual books since I responded to this, one such is The Whistling Season that I just finished this morning. It took awhile as I put the book down and would almost forget about it, but I got it read. It didn't turn out the way I wanted it to, but I definitely will pick it up again when I forget exactly what it is about.

Why did you have to remind me of this! I feel horrible that Idon't read as much as I used to these days. But part of my problem is a vision problem and reading on line isn't as hard as a book with small print. I bought Time Travelers Wife last fall/summer and have only made it through the first couple chapters. I do say in my defense tho, it got rather boring as I was so busy keeping track of the dates/times/persons and who did what when, it was a bit exhausting to read and keep up with it. I have a triolgy by Fern Michaels about the history of a family as they lived in Kentuky, Las Vegas, then Dallas and that is fantastic, but smaller print so harder to read and I can't find them in larger print. But I feel bad now, so I think I will take my book to the patio and read today! I do miss that fun!

Hi, macdingolinger. I read the instructions on the back of the rice box. My husband bought this rice and this was my first time cooking it. So, I wanted to make sure that I was cooking it the right way. So, I was reading the instructions for it. This is what I remember reading today. Good Luck on your book!

I think nowadays people read increasingly online. However, I think people always have read more in snippets rather than sitting down and reading for a long period of time, like several hours. Most people don't seem to like to do that.

My daughter and son-in-law are both avid (real book) readers. They can spend an afternoon reading a good book. They like the Twilight series. I like to spend an afternoon reading but I haven't had time to do that in a few months now!

My sister is like that too. It's completely fine I think, there is worse things for someone to be doing all day than reading. However, if all they do is read they might become near-sighted later.

I read a bit of a poetry journal that I'm in. I am reading "The Corrections" which I'm not enjoying or even getting anything from on audio book.

I finished up LIVING WITNESS which is one of the Gregor Demarkian mysteries by Jane Haddam. I like that series because it's set in Philadelphia and the surrounding area where I live. It was a new book just published in 2009 and I think it is one of the best in the series.

I forgot, I also read some of the manual for a new digital camera that I purchased. It's mightly slow going. I could finish up a whole series of mysteries and throw in a re-read of WAR AND PEACE before I'm ready to operate this camera.

Nothing. I do much of my reading online. reading a book real book is something that I do before I go to bed at night. I don't make alot of time to read going online and watching TV or movies is something that I do on a regular basis.

Any other day I would have a big list for you. Today I read my gas bill and another bill. I read my coke can and a little place on my bag of snickers someone brought me, that said fun size snacks.

It all still sounds like reading to me! I just read a menu at an eating establishment. I think I can add that to my reading list for the day! I am not quite through yet either!

I read a really interesting article about the life of a stuntman I cannot remember his name (it wasn't anybody as important or iconic as Evil Kneivel), but he was giving an interview and talking about how awesome, yet how gruelling a career in acting out stunts for movies can be.
