Even if we are mature people we can not control everything, and music is one thing we can not control too easy.More exactly, we can not control the feet or head to move and "dance"in the rhythm of music we will move involuntarily.
Have you ever been in the situation of dancing in a bus seat, with feet, that is to keep rhythm, or move your head when you buy tomatoes in supermarkets? Did you know that at some point someone looks curious, and ..you have seen outside that you actually were dancing?
So involuntary dance in public affairs, if you hear a song you like, and you see others as "dancing" like you?

hi ice,
when someone is a music lover, sometimes involuntarily and without his knowing, he is already nodding to the beat. i see a lot of them in the malls and everywhere i go. and i find it nice seeing them express themselves that way.

Yes I cant help but to move my head or snap my fingers when a good song comes on lol its almost involuntary, in fact recently I was in a supermarket and over the speaker's they had an old classic 80s song playing, and I was mouthing the words and slightly dancing. I mean you just cant help it especially if the song is playing in stereo sound, and that base is pumping through out the store, and I'm a big music lover too, so whenever I hear a song I love I move to the beat.

Dancing in public is not common in my place, whatever may be the rythm or whatever may be the music or song, nobody cares to dance and enjoy in public, they feel shy or they hesitate to dance ...somebody might nod their heads, if somebody comes from other country, they might tap their feet if they like our country's music in public, but what does the public? they just stare at them.
In my case, i will be very careful not to move my head or foot when i'm in public and when my favorite songs rolls on, and this dancing in public or tapping feet or nodding head in my place is called as public nuisance and it is an offence, they will be warned..

I have never found myself dancing in public, but I admit to tapping my foot when I hear something catchy. I do, however, frequently catch myself singing along with music, in public. But, you know, I don't really worry about the strange looks I might get. I am enjoying myself. At my age I think I have earned the right to please myself.

Yes that is so true. Sometimes when a favourite song of mine comes on, I just can't help but do a little dancing. People stare at me and think that I'm a weirdo. When I come back to reality, I say to myself, "Did I just do that in public?" Some people laugh and smile while others are mentally and emotionally shocked. I think people are too tense nowadays, and should really loosen up and show off some moves.

I dance a little in public. I don't care. If I am out and about and a song is playing in a store, I don't mind if people see me getting down and dancing a little. I like to have fun when I am out and that is one of the ways I entertain myself.

life is so hard, is so short, sometimes we have so small moments of happiness; WHY NOT? If you just feel good? we must learn that in a good sense limits, we must to make all what can make us happy; tomorrow is a new day, but tomorrow can be our last day too

Hi, Ice!
Events such as this are fairly common in this area, and I love it. Everybody dances, from toddlers to oldsters with walkers, and nobody ever seems to have a bad time. It's usually hispanic salsa music, and it's fabulous fun!

I would love to be there to see, here, if you try to move the legs or head in music rhythm , an old lady will look at you like a Martian, as something very strange, weird; any way seems that new generation is more free, more relax, seems that i am from new generation, even i am a "old" lady

It is funny you should say this. I was in the grocery store the other day and they were playing some good music kind of loudly while I was shopping. I couldn't help myself, I was kind of bopping my head and moving my feet, and even singing a little bit when no one else was around who could here me. I often start dancing when I am cleaning house and a commercial with a good song comes on. I love dancing, and I love music though, so I don't know if most people are like me.

Hey icesmile! Yes, I do know what you mean! And I do sometimes
find myself "dancing" to the music! When I am in the grocery
store if I hear a song that I like I will start singing and then
sometimes will start moving to the music and I don't care what
anyone thinks of me! That's why the stores play the music! They
want to distract you so you buy more stuff! If you are happy and
dancing or singing to the music you buy more stuff! They know
what they are doing and the are absolutely right! Music puts
people in a good mood and that makes them happy and then the
shop more! Great marketing strategy! I went grocery shopping today
and I honestly didn't even hear any music playing! I guess I
just wasn't in the mood! I was too busy keeping track of my
girlfriends, who was my ride!lol

Yes, when I'm grocery shopping or whatever, if there's some good moving music, on you just might see me dancing, and you will definitely hear me singing. The girl can't help it!

I loved it - but I will do it voluntarily - he hee! I am a figure skater / dancer . . . and I "practice" while I'm standing in line or waiting in an elevator . . . might as well make use of the time, right? It's great when you hear a good piece of music in public . . . makes you (and your body) motivated - so why not do some toe tapping?! And who cares if anyone is watching . . . as long as I'm not in anyone's way . . . I'm strutting my stuff - hee hee!

Yeah, my feet tap to the music I hear in the train. I dance in the grocery when the music's nice and when I'm with my sister...and especially when no one else in on the same aisle, except the security cameras maybe. Lol!
