Hi yugasinigaru
It is good that you are maintaining your weight. I also wish to maintain my weight, but due to temptation, I will eat lots of sweets, ice creams and chips. so my weight is fluctuating always.Hereafter I will follow your footsteps like drinking more water and eating less fatty food

Hello vathsala!
Yes, I'm weight conscious. It may seem hard to believe that taking the weight off is the easy part but maintaining weight loss for good is where the real challenge lies.
These are the things I do to maintain weight loss:
1) I use a tape measure to keep tabs on my weight and occasionally weigh my self.
2) I really struggle with exercising regularly and I have never exercised for one our a day consistently. I will do other activities to get my heart rate up and I try different forms of exercise all the time because I got bored easily. I think it is vital to get moving everyday.
3) I eat only 2 meals a day with small amount of rice, sometimes no rice. And rarely snack. "After 6" is good for me.
I've never been into gym, ever since. I just read different articles about weight loss and if its fit my needs I'll follow it.
That's all. Good day!

Hi kd_fmay
I too agree with you that maintaining the weight is the real challenge. All your tips are well taken because they are really useful tips. Even I will avoid fatty items like ghee, icecreams, pastries, cake, and all items which has rich carbo hydrades, fat and oilly items. I will also avoid deep fried items and snacks. Still I am unable to control my weight gain. Is napping promotes weight gain?

It’s a good idea to have an idea of the calories that most food items have. If it is a packed thing then the label is sure to have the calories that the substance has.

Hi bhuwanji
What you think is very true. Once we complete 50 yes of age, the royal diseases will be waiting for their turn to occupy our body. I will also do pranayam and yoga taught by Swami Ramdev through Astha Channel and I am an ardent fan of him. What he says is true and practical. I think, you are from North India and definitely knowing Baba Ramdev and his pranayam

Earlier I was walking and maintaining my weight. But how muchever I walk, my weight was not reducing much. Then I started getting some heaviness feeling on the heart at the left side, just below the shoulder. The moment I start walking, this heaviness starts and does not allow me to walk further. So now I do not walk. I control my diet and drink more water.

Drinking more water is good for health. Balanced diet is also equally good. But if bot brisk walk, atleast try to walk slowly and once you are accustomed to it then gradually pick up the speed.

Hi Aunty,
I am not that weight conscious person. One can maintain their weight by having a balanced food and by doing yoga or physical exercises and also by doing brisk walk fastly. I also read an article in the newpaper that when a person having his food i.e breakfast, lunch and dinner he should only have 3/4 of the meal and the rest 1/4 should be water. so by this the persons digestion will be good. Having complete food leads to form excess sugar in the food and forms weight and also cholestrol.
Have a great day.

Hi deepa
The people with normal weight do not need to worry about it as they are normal in weight. You are right, by doing yoga, exercises, and brisk walk we can maintain weight. Obese people are not only odd looking but they are prone to high risk of getting heart attach and also diabetese, knee pain, and may develop arthritis. Not all obese people but a few of them.

hi there, I maintain my body physically fit and healthy by exercising at least 3 times a week, eating healthy foods and avoiding junk foods. I love veggies and fruits, I also drink brewed green tea after every meal - it makes me feel good inside and out.

Wah!
You are following the perfect weight controlling methods. Yes. One should take heavy breakfast as our stomach will be empty throughout the night and secretes enzymes. In the noon medium lunch and in the night light dinner is a must to maintain good health and balanced weight. Even if we take hardly some fruits and 1 glass of milk in the night it will do.

Hi libramie
Walking atlease 3x a week for atleast 30 minutes is very good for heart as well as health. Even I used to walk some time before, for 30 minutes every day and that time my health was normal. Now due to family demands i am unable to find time as each one of my family member will be coming at different time for lunch and dinner and go at different times. So I am trying to do breathing exercises and yoga whenever i find time at home

Hi dilip
You are following the right weight control method. Walking is indeed a very good exercise. Actually doctors too will advice the obese people to use the staircase as far as possible instead of lift to burn the extra calories and go to the nearest shop by walk. You are right. We should indeed avoid, deep fried food, greasy items like pastries and calorie rich food like ice creams, pizza etc
