Trouble changing preferences

Hi guys. So I have been having a lot of trouble updating my account settings in the preferences. I can mess around with it and change the settings but whenever I click update my internet loads a blank page and when I check back on it, nothings saved. I've tried this on safari and internet explorer and it never works. My internet works fine for anything else and updating on other sites. I want to update it to allow mature content here. I've had a few really well thought out comments deleted because of this and it's really upsetting. Any help?
