Going thru my interest I desided to put this here for it is a health concer wtittn by CHuck Norris gives some good points in what our school lunch rooms are seving our kids,
http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=35654
I remeber wehn we had very good cooks in the lunch room and in high school I paid a quarter to eat.
Now they give it away and I have really not seen really good food being prepared by cooks!
havent for along time whats wrong with seving meat and taters and beans fruit and veggies a well rounded menu like they used to aqdn get the kids outside to run it off like we used too.
any more thought you have are good

Good link. With all the fast food outlets, food has never been the same again as more and more people are getting obese because of too much patronizing these fastfood outlets. I think people should replace one of their main meals with fruits and vegetables which are healthy.

thanks. yes fast food is so bad for us and our kids the one I like to eat at only is subsandwiches where ya can put on all the veggies ya want.
And the schools what I have seen at breakfast time is milk a health bar some fruit not much to choose from I see no cooks in htere at all for a good hot meal for the kids think I saw cold ceral too.
My grand daughter went a couple of times but she would rather play than go in there so its the play ground for her

As usual it was a great article by Chuck Norris. I think we tend to forget how hard it is to get things rolling in every community. I agree with everything he says and I think we need to stand firm as parents and do all we can to get our kids to eat right at home. By the time new programs are instated in the schools they are nearly archaic. What the hey!! We can't expect the schools to do it all.

yes chuck does come up with very good writtings.
I really would like to see the lunch rooms go back to cooking the way they did when I was a kid,
Just do get it that they give kids so much junk to eat ,
we always have something ready for grand daughter wehn she gets home at lunch time and make sure she eats it all .
HSe used to love broccoli but the last tine we fixed it for her she hid it in my bedroom I found it later that day hmmmmmmmmmmmm now I wonder why she didnt eat it,

Yes, he does. Weird she would hide it in your room. She must have known she would get found out. Weird!

He is right, we used to take care of our own kids. maybe parents can send kids with home prepared lunch.
many of my friends are doing own lunches for kids.

I was never fond of the lunchroom when i was in school. One thing i hated was the smell that went all over the school. There were some things i liked but more that i didn't.

Chuck is right. We should go back to taking care of our own and the foods our kids eat should be provided by us and the kinds we like and not let the government take hold of our kids food and health.
The government has far too much power over us but its a lose/lose situation cuz people allow the government to get into their private lives with welfare and food stamps.
I had to be on food stamps once but got off them asap.
I am glad the program existed but most abuse it.
We just need to learn to take care of ourselves.

I won't be able to check at grandsons' school. I doubt my daughter in law or son either one know what their kids are eating.
I'll have to take a chance and let this one go.
But yes food stamps are ok but being white is no problem in MT. hardly no blacks in MT.
And, hey,I got this one !!
but I'm going to bed now.
hugggggggggssssssssssss
