have you ever heard someone say if that was my kid I would beat him.
Well I remember one time when I was little someone said that about me. I went right over and said if you were my dad you would be in jail. then he got really mad and yea I left and told him to have a nice day in an unpolite way. hahaha lets just say it rhymes with duck off. xP
After the incident I saw him a few times and he would always say something obvious to me and everyone else around would just be like wth? of course I would just usually say my un-so-friendly goodbye.one day I think I might have gotten him arrested cause when I went to the mall one time he was being talked to by the police in handcuffs. I dont know why but when they put him in the car. I just said you arent my dad.
So now besides the story I want to know why people say that? I mean its never going to happen and shouldnt. Also isnt it kind of a threat?

I don't believe anyone here is talking about actual child abuse. I spanked all four of my children when they needed it and I can tell you with 100% certainty that, if I had not whipped my son's butt as he was growing up, he would be in jail now instead of being a father to my granddaughter.

Sure I've heard people say that...and I've said it myself (not those exact words) when I've witnessed someone else's child behaving badly...becauses if one of my kids had been doing whatever it was they would have received an a$$ whipping.
Apparently you were doing something that this man objected to when he said what he said. It also appears that you had a pretty smart mouth if you were telling adults to f off when you were little. If you were my kid, I would have beat your butt all the way home for saying that to an adult. And, no, it's not a threat...it's a statement.

i have said it because i have a friend who's kids are just trouble..they hit other kids, they get into EVERTYTHING!!!! and my friend does nothing! those kids will one day run all over her and take advantage of her and i won't feel bad! i obviously don't mean it realistically but i just say it because those kids are outta control and no one does anything about it!

Hi, tap0991. Well yes, if the child has not done anything wrong, then there is something wrong with saying it. I guess people say it because they have seen a child do something that they should not do. And that makes them want to strike back.. They would beat their own kids. And hopefully they will never beat someone else's kid that is not theirs..
