I am an avid reader and I love to read, while I will read everything that I get my hands on I am partial to some and others I have a problem with, I will read them anyway. I dont like love stories any more, romances went from being interesting when I was younger, to being boring and repetitive ( I dont know how many woman get kidnapped, man who kidnaps her feels strongly, woman falls in love with kidnapper, kidnapper saves woman and both ride off into the sunset). So I dont want to read them as much and I dont purchase them but if someone gives it to me I will read it. I like the newer murder mysteries, they too used to be very boring especially if I figured out who the murderer was before the book was halfway over, however I have found that newer books of this kind have become interesting and extremely hard to figure out, and nowadays I am thrilled to find I have to read the entire book in order to get who done it, and most of the time I am wrong. How great! What is your favorite type of books.

I like to read horror and suspense books. Mostly I stick to the suspense books. My favorite author at the moment is Christopher Pike. I know he writes teen suspense books, but his adult books are really very good reads and I can't get enough of them.

Yeah I have a daughter who simply devours Chris Pike I think she would love his more adult ones too but I would have to read them first to make sure the books are not to grown up for her.

I love love love mystery novels of any kind. My favorites are Janet Evanovich and Sue Grafton but I also like James Patterson and Stephen Frey. A couple of years ago, I started to read Luanne Rice. Her books are realtionship novels and wouldn't typically be my sort of read but her vivid descriptions of the New England coast and her complex character had made me a fan. I like her so much that I even made DH take me on a vacation to the New England coast. Now when I read her books, I can transport myself to that locale.

Stephen Frey writes thrillers centered in the investment community. He's a good read. Try a Luanne Rice. I would suggest that you start with "Beach Girls." I grew up in Ohio and we spent out summers at a small cottage that my parents owned near the lake. The book reminds me so much of my summers as a child. The name probably has a different connotation but it is a sweet story of a young girl whose father takes her to Hubbard's Point for the summer after her mother passed away.

I don't really like romance novels either. They are all pretty much the same. I used to like reading Science Fiction books. But gradually lost interest. Now I just like to read the Adventure and Mystery books now. They are quite fun to read and I like how they are able to keep my attention to the story and the characters in it.

I love to read books that has something to do with self development. I also love reading novels and fiction books. I find these books helpful in different ways. I just think that there are so many ways on how we can learn and books are good ways to do so.

I enjoy reading mystery novels most of the time myself. Sometimes I like to read fantasy books. Right now I am reading a James Patterson book called Cat& Mouse. It is a mystery book with detective Alex Cross. I have like reading James Paterson books for awhile espically his Alex Cross series.

I love reading novels too. MY favourite would be historical fiction, particularly those based on Australia's early convict days. I also love English or European historical fiction. When I cant find any of the above to read, I enjoy mystery or crime. Dan Brown was a favourite author of mine for a while. My daughter gave me a novel by Di Morrisy for my birthday... "Heart of Dreaming". I foiund it somewhat superficial at first, as it does involve the lovey dovey stuff which can get boring. Later though thje novel did involve a lot of outback scenarios and I enjoyed that. At the moment I am reading "Critical Mass" by Whitley Strieber. Not normally my kind of reading, being an exagerated polt ehere Las Vedas is hit by a nuclear bomb. It turned out to be very well written and I am quite into it.

I think Dan Brown is a gifted fiction writer however with the whole controversy with the Da Vinci Code I have been a little irritated with him.

I have been reading since I was a child and I love all kinds of books. My favorite author is James Patterson he writes great thrillers. Whether it is the latest in the Alex Cross series or any other thriller this man knows how to keep you guessing until the very end. A lot of times I don't see it coming and at times shocked at the ending. I also love Star Wars series, Harry Potter, Redwall Series. I still like a good romance story, family struggles, small town stories. I guess you get the idea. Mostly for me I have to be hooked before the first 100 pages. If I get to page 100 and am still bored by the book back to the library it goes. I have only a few times figured out the killer before I got to the end. The great thing about books is there are so many choices out there. I haven't gotten into ebooks or anything like that. I guess I am old fashioned I love curling up with a good book and going to a whole new world. Just to escape from all the drama going on in my life.

How right you are, you know I get the same thing but I have to continue reading even if it is boring but I am not happy about it. LOL

I love to read! My favourite types of books are any kind of self-help book. I think wisdom is an infinite thing and you will never know everything, but isn't that wonderful. I don't like reading anything negative, although i do love the odd conspiracy theory!

I write non fiction and self help with all its required research, so for my reading I prefer fiction, however every now and then I like a good history or some such kind of book to get me going.
