How lucky am I? I turned on the TV and The Notebook was starting!! I love this movie. I own it but this is even better. I don't have to go looking for it in my movie collection.
How do you like this movie? Do you consider it one of our love story classic movies?

This is one of a few that is really good. No matter how many times I see it though I always cry at the ending. Another movie but its an old movie called "An Affair to Remember" with Cary Grant. Its another wonderful love story that I also cry at the end each and every time I see it.

Firstly I really like “The Notebook” but would never consider it a classic, in fact I don’t even think it’s the best adaptation of Nicholas Sparks novel to the big screen. But it is very well crafted with a nice blend of romance and sentimentality to make it both memorable and entertaining.
I think my biggest issue is that the actual main love story, the one between Noah and I can’t remember her name in the past, is actually quite stereotypical. The love lost, love from different social elements is over used and so for the most the movie follows a very play it by numbers path. It’s not until the big reveal comes that it manages to find a unique stance to make it feel different to what you expect.
For me the best of these Nicholas Sparks adaptations is “Night’s in Rodanthe” which is both romantic and hard hitting.

The Notebook is truly a very touching and heartwarming story of genuine love. I do wish the youth today could give this story a serious thought. It is very important to find that right person to cherish the rest of one's life. It is the only way that people could honestly say I love you. Loving someone is for keeps.
