Recently we have decided to resubscribe to cable tv. We now have a cable tv again. it's great coz there's a lot of channels to choose from. From movies, to sports, to cartoons, to foreign channels, it will make you stay home. Well, actually I am a homebody person so this is really in my favor. This will reduce my time in computer. I am a sports fan so sports is my priority to watch, channels such as ESPN, Star Sports, Basketball TV, and more. I also like movies, there are also several channels to choose from such as HBO, Cinemax, Star movies, and more. For kids, Cartoon Network is always there. Do you have a cable tv at home? What are the channels that you prefer watching?

It's good that you are maximizing the use of your cable tv, so your bill for it is worth paying for. Thank you for your response. Happy myLotting!

we used to have one but its a waste of money when i can watch them all online, lol. You can watch sports, cartoons, movies, etc online and even for free. I had it cut off for that reason, and i was paying for it even if no one watches the tv anaymore, so i had it cut off. Most of my favorites are actually all online, I just download them and watch them for free, anytime.

Yes, practically, cable tv is not really important, especially for those who really need to manage their budget. Yes, they can be available online except those live events but sometimes there is also live streaming on the internet. If you don't watch regularly, it's really advisable to have it cut off. What you did is right. Thank you for your response. Happy myLotting!

Nope!! we don't have cable tv at home. We don't even have TV. We had one but we are not using it, we preferred to use our computer when we watch something. We give our TV to goodwill and never got one after that. Each of us have our own computer at home so, and we can watch what we want online so, we've decided not to buy any TV.

We cancelled our cable because my child won't let me watch TV anyway and we typically watch our shows online when we have time. So having cable wasn't beneficial for us. And plus I'm afraid of putting something inappropriate on that my child could get a view of and right now I just want to avoid that.

Where I live, you can't get cable, so I have DirectTV (satellite). But when it really comes right down to it, I only watch CBS, ABC, NBC and Fox, so why I'm paying for 250 extra channels, beats me. If I could get these four channels, without satellite, I might go that route and save $60+ a month. Maybe I ought to check in to it????

Although yeah its a good thing to have a cable too ,we dont have one in our place. Not that i dont want to have one its just that i rarely watch tv these past few months already. Because of work and sometimes id rather spend the time with family friends and other stuff instead of locking myself all the time watching tv. But hey dont get me wrong just as i said its also good to have cable connection at home for you to be able to watch more channels. More channels more options more fun!

Hi mark, actually I'm missing my cable Tv from Thailand at the moment. I am living in rural Victoria, and strangely enough only get five Australian chanels, which mreans only two or three games of Australian Footbal each weekend. However in Thailand I get five games. As you can probably guess, I love Aussie Rules Footy.

No, I don't have cable tv at home. I am just stuck with using the Basic Cable service. I am happy with just having the Basic service. If I had cable I would just wind up paying a lot more for the extra channels. Plus it would be tough for me to decide what to watch everyday with so many channels.

...Hi markmoney, Yes I subscribe to cable television, and I like the fact that we have so many channels to choose from. What I don't like is that the movies they show seem to be the same ones day after day. The other thing would be that we have so many channels, but the variety and quality of the shows is dismal. When you first get cable it is exciting, but then after a while it gets boring to a degree, maybe it 's just me and the stage I am in, but I would like to see a better effort put into the quality of the shows. I like HBO, Lifetime and GSN, the game show network. Enjoy and take care.

All my childhood and teen years, my family has had cable TV. I'm 19 now and my family decided to stop cable TV about 6 months ago, and just watch the free over the air channels. At first it was really hard to get used to, but I suppose its ok. I do think a lot of TV shows (cable and network) are really trashy and empty, but there are tons of cable channels I miss. w

Yeah i have cable TV in my home. It's normal a think every 2 person have it.
That's good. There are a lot of channels : for movies, music, cartoons.
I like "city tv" - it's bulgarian tv channel only for music (world music) i like watching MTV, animal planet, discovery channel and many other channels.
But i prefer the music channels. I love a lot to listen music.

We have digital cable. We never upgraded to get any of the premium movie channels. We hardly watch television. I can't even remember the last time we even turned on our television to watch anything. I mostly watch d.v.d.'s or play my Wii on my television.

We have cable tv, and I really can't imagine not having one. I seldom watch local channels, other than for news, and some shows. I like watching Discovery Channel, Animal Planet and National Geographic. I also love watching CNN. The movie channels are also a plus, specially if you really have nothing to do then you could just watch that, and instead of buying dvds and watching it in the movie house, you can just wait till they show it on HBO. heheheh.

hello markmoney,
we have a lot to watch for when we have cable but i believe it has caused some bad effects to my nephew and niece since they prefer to watch more than go out. as for me i love to watch movie in hbo or start movies, sometimes i do watch in cinemax. they're aren't that a lot of channels since it's not sky cable or destiny.

no i dont have cable television we have set up box instead so that many channels are available in it because in cable they give only limitted number of channels but the only draw back is its cost compared to cable but the clarity is very good as its MPEG4 and has no interruptions and it has has all categories like sports, children, movies, wild, music etc.
