If you look into a medical dictionary or a dictionary you could see their meaning is different from one another. Delusion - it is a state of mind having false beliefs or opinions as having lack of evidence. Examples: I am the Pope, I am Superman, I can swim in the sky. That is delusion. There is lot of evidence on what is really reality. This is base on self not objects or auditory. Illusion - perceiving a thing or object you thought it was. Meaning you have been deceive by your visual senses. Example: Everyone saw a pencil but you said That's a knife. How about white curtains, No that is a spirit passing by. Illusion may sound like the same as hallucination but it is not. Hallucination - a perception either visual or auditory misconception of a thing. There are lots of types of hallucination but the 2 main are the Visual Hallucination and Auditory Hallucination. Visual hallucination can be explained like this, You are in a desert with no food and water, you are thirsty and on the middle of nowhere you suddenly found water not to far from your area. You drank the water then it becomes dust. You were hallucinating there was water which there isn't really one. Auditory hallucination is hearing of voices in your thoughts. That is all to it. This is just to clarify and sum up the meaning of this words. They all look synonymous but they are not. They have different meanings and people try to interchange the words in their sentence. Hope you enjoyed reading this.

I agree with the information you have given about the different types of Hallucinations. These mental disorder happens to individuals is experiencing severe depression, anxiety and a traumatic experience in their life that lead to different mental disorder meaning an abnormality in his state of mind and far from the present reality. A person who is in normal state of mind only have imaginations been constructed in their mind. In which they are aware of the reality and limits.

Yes, when you look at it's medical meaning, you can see that there's totally different meaning for each of the words. But, when you look at it, based on a day to day living, I think it's just acceptable to interchange the meaning. But, then again, the words have their own meaning and should be used appropriately in different situations as not to complicate the situation in case of emergency.
