I won't say it's a bad idea, but I won't say it's a good idea either. First, you must know exactly what you are getting into. Wolf dogs are not your normal type of dog. They demand a strict leader, not one who is cruel and impatient but one that is assertive and understand their behavior. There are certain specifics of a wolf dog not common in dogs, and many many people mistake mixed breed dogs for wolf dogs. If you want a wolf dog, study about them. Get wolf-dogs A-Z and A Guide to Living with Wolfdogs. I'd also recommend joining wolfdogforums.com. There are knowledgeable wolfdog owners who can instruct and guide you on wolfdogs. Also if you do plan to get a wolf dog after all of this, get a low content first. They're easier to manage than a mid content and especially easier to manage than a high content.

I have a wolf dog (mixed of Siberian Huskey with Timberwolf) Long story short...I bought him at CRAIGSLIST because he was a "Pomeranian". Later on, when he was 5 month old and extremely strong, we found out he was no little dog at all but a wolf dog '~' Lobo (that's his name; ironic isn't it) is now 1 year old, black as the night with yellowish eyes, a very energetic boy with a big heart, loves my kid and thinks my husband is his pet. At first we had a lot of "behavioral problems" but it was all because he is a very independent dog and alpha-male which makes things a lot more difficult for everyone. He loves attention and need a lot of exercise; a big eater and a little termite also because he enjoys eating branches. If I let him do his thing he would probably make a mini-golf course out of my backyard ha,ha,ha,ha. I don't regret having my hybrid wolf but in deed we (the whole family) made the changes to get accustomed to his wolfy ways. It is a different experience and if you do purchase a wolf dog please read, read, read and be patience. Good luck and it was a pleasure sharing my story with u ;-)
