I've actually participated in quite a number of chess tournament during my junior college life. The most memorable one is the one we actually achieve team second place when we should be getting first place. In that tournament, I made two mistakes. One is when I'm winning, I forgot to defend myself, in the end losing to the opponent who only have two or three attacking pieces and I have much more. The second mistake is that I draw to an opponent due to very little time both of us have, if I had make an appropriate move, I would have won the match. What about you? Have you participated in any chess tournament? Which is the most memorable one?

I play chess from my childhood Upto my school days I was a street player .In that time I thought I was the best player in this world .Because I won most of the games when I play with my friends and neighbours. But Once I entered into the college days I played many tournament games .Then only I come to realise that I am an intermediate in chess .I saw many great players it was really a great experience .But at later days in my final year we won the game .Unfortunately it was team work no individual game .But I got 5 out of 5 in that match .And my college got the first prize in that game .It was a very memorable one in my chess history .

Yes i did participate once in my college competition. I was new in the college and i was taking part in the chess competition. And my first opponent was defending champion. And i started with queen's gambit , and he accepted, and after that there was no turning back. And that was my best win ever, bacause he was the champion.

When I was in grade school I went to a chess tournament at least once a month. I also went to Nationals every year from about 6th grade until I graduated from high school. The most memorable tournament was when I tied for 25th at Nationals when I was in eight grade and got a medal for tying the last trophy spot.

yes i did, many times when i was in high school, I just had no time for it anymore when i was in college. Anyway, the most memorable one is during our inter-school competition. A lot of schools competed in that tournament and a lot were good players. I was so nervous that time, like my hands were shaking, lol. but i managed to win 3 times and another 3 for my partner that made us won the gold. I felt so proud of myself that day, just so proud, lol.

I have never played in a chess tournament.
I have played at work with a friend and also at home with my son.
My son can beat me if he puts his mind to it but I beat him if he is not concentrating.
