why directors do not act in their movies?

if the director know so much about the role ,then why dont they act in the movie instead of spending money on actors
i think they want someone to blame if the movie is flop

I think the directors want to express their creativity in their movies. To do that, they have to be behind the camera and the best scenes for the film. Filmmaking and acting are two different disciplines. They may be related but they are not the same.
