During the blizzard that hit the east coast, a man in Pittsburgh PA who couldn't walk or move started making calls to 911 due to horrific pain. He initially made the calls himself, with his girlfriend taking over making the calls after his pain was more than he could bear. The girlfriend continued to call every 30 minutes, after 3 ambulance dispatches hadn't made it to the house. An ambulance who finally made it close to the poor man asked him to walk out and meet them outside! Having an ill person meet the ambulance outside is highly unusual, obviously, but this was asked of him due to the amount of snow received, somewhere around 2 feet. I think this story is so sad! Obviously EMS can't be blamed for the weather, but what possibly could be done to keep things like this from happening in the future?

That is just so sad and horrific. Lucky for us, we don't have snow in our country but it is still scary to think what snow can do and what the EMS can't do.
