Why are those about the only choices when you go to a wedding, what if you dont like either one.

Pick the one you dislike the least. You will have to eat before the wedding, if you won't eat either, or pick at your food and eat the veggies, bread, and cake.

Hopefully they have enough variety of other stuff to eat. I like both so I don't have that problem.

Hubby and I were told by his best friend about a month before the wedding that the food was going to be "of the chain". So the wedding day comes and I'm thinking we're going to have something unusual for dinner...you know seafood, fried foods, soul food...and what does the waiter say when he comes over to us "chicken or beef". I told my hubby when we left that his friend had failed us, I had been getting my hopes up for something good and it was any other wedding meal...

Well that does seem to be the norm - although I have been to many weddings where fish was also offered so that's usually what I ate. I too am not a big fan of meat period - yes I will eat it - but it's never a first choice for me!!! I love my veggies!!!!

Hmm, I haven't noticed that, but I haven't been to a whole lot of weddings. I'm vegan and tend to just snack on a couple appetizers. But where I've gone, they've only had appetizers and cake. Nothing else. My wedding won't have chicken or beef unless my girlfriend wants that. But there will be a vegan option too, and the cake will be vegan.

Well you could always tell people you're vegetarian beforehand and have pretend meat, I think people would be more sympathetic of you said you were a vegetarian than you just being fussy, I mean how many people don't like chicken? I don't like beef, but I've never met anyone who doesn't like chicken,

lol I just did the thing I most hate about other people doing on this site, and didn't read properly lmao! In general it covers what most people will like as those that don't eat red meat can have white. Normally though the bride and groom should be aware whether there friends/family are vegetarian, diabetic, allergic to anything etc and provide a different meal especially for them, that's what we did.
