O Canada ! A Gold In Ice Dancing!

Congrads to the Canada's Ice dancing team , they won gold! True it isn't hockey but it is history! this is the first time a non Russian/ Soviet team hasn't won gold in ice dancing. They skated the best long program i have ever seen since Tovil and Dean! To all my Canadian friends out there, be proud of this! Your thoughts.

Once again I was drawn to watching this Olympic event. Never knew that there is such an event as ice dancing. I must admit it was quite fascinating to watch, even thought they didn't have any sticks with them.
But it is great that they were the first north american olympic champions. They've pushed out Russia and other europeans. And they say that american silver medalists are their training partners. So it will just mean that their rivalry will continue until the 2014 Olympics.

Yes. Both are young enough to be at the next Olympics. Ice dancing is far different that pairs. I am so glad you enjoyed it!

It is great to hear that you watched the wonderful display of ice dancing and a
non Russian team won it. I hope that it was your one of the favourites. I have seen it rarely, that too on TV. I understand that it would be great fun to watch ice dancing and congratulations from all of us here to you and your favourite team, as they won the gold medal.

Woohoo!!! I just heard the news on the BBC World Service, and what wonderful news it is!!! I was so happy to hear it. We've made history with the 2010 Olympics in so many ways. First a medal in Canada, and a GOLD ONE at that, and more medals, and another gold one in ice dancing. YAY!!! :) I love being a Canadian.

Hi sarah, good for them..I must be getting old..I remember Tovil and Dean. I didn't see the ice dancing program, I still prefer my skaters to carry sticks with them. I'm thinking maybe the candians won't be as excited about this one as they would one for hockey, but hopefully they are proud. And it looks like it may be the only skate related ones they wil be winning these olympics.

I started out seing figure skating and then went to hockey. Believe me, These two were just as good as Tovil and Dean! They were simply breath taking!
