I was tuning on the radio a while ago and they were discussing health topics about hypertension and then end up in degenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's Disease. It was tuned up in AM frequency. I think its a good fact to know health topics in the radios especially people in remote areas where radios are the only thing they listen to. This way health many people would be aware about their health because when I listen to it some people being interviewed never knew those diseases mentioned. Sad to say.
I hope the health topics doesn't only end up in AM frequency. It should have also been in FM radio stations.

Your area still has AM Radio. Sweet!
There are some radio stations in where I live that talk about certain Health Topics, and some of them are pretty good topics.
I know some people who have Alzheimer's Disease, and it's so sad to see it because they cannot remember much or they cannot remember anything at all. Sometimes, often times, you have to have things written down for them, or you have to have picture with people's names and who they are on them. My boyfriend's grandmother has it, and people write down things for her, and they carry pictures with their names and who they are on them. She has to be reminded of everything. Since I met my boyfriend right around the time she was diagnosed with it, I know that she may remember who I am.
I hear that some great ways of preventing the disease is eating right, getting needed sleep, reducing stress, exercising of any kind, any kind of thinking, reading everyday and playing mind games with yourself on a daily basis, but I also heard that it can be genetic. If it is genetic, no amount of anything is really going to help a person prevent it. It's pretty hard to battle the genes.

Yes we still have AM here. Teens usually listen to FM but there are more information in AM. Yes that diseases is very rampant when you get late in your adult years. Be sure to plan out your future about this but not limited to one disease. I'm just saying we should be health oriented. Nice to know you also listen to this. ^^,

LOL, nice one. We also have AM stations here, a lot in fact. Anyway, mankind is really amazing, radios are a huge factor for the people in rural areas to stay in touch with the current trends, especially in the fields of medicine and technology, I agree that it is a great help for us that AM stations are built. We must be fully aware of what's going on with our bodies. Specially the ones causing brain damage. I hate movies that involves brain damages like Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, schizophrenia, etc. God bless, guys. Stay healthy

Health awareness through radio and TV is a good thing that many well meaning governments emphasize. Ignorance is worst than disease.

There are all kinds of health related topics on the BBC world Service at different times of day, and during all kinds of different programs. I really enjoy listening to them,. and have learned a lot from these programs. The BBC World Service is streamed locally on a radio station here in Guelph at night, so I can listen even without a computer.

I think like anything else the radio is an information source. You can listen but then always be research or talk to your real doctor. Don't, of course, go believing everything you hear on the radio or find on the internet. That just makes you a stupid person. Like everything else in life, it's buyer or in this case listener beware.

That's great. I listen to talk/news radio all the time. I have it on all night in my bedroom, even when I am asleep...lol I sometimes sleep odd hours so I catch many different shows each week. Some about health, politics, current local issues etc.
The radio station I listen to is on am fm and onlin. it is WBZ in Boston, Ma. The also take phone calls during the night shows. It has some really interesting topics sometimes.
Here is a link you can check it out and listen online.
