Conserving water can do more than save your or your parents' money, it can also save freshwater ecosystems, wetlands, and watersheds. How can you save water?

I have no clue how much household water we use, we don't pay a water bill because we are on a well, but what I can tell you is that we go through about 2 and a half gallons of purified water per day for drinking and cooking purposes.

We never have water restrictions where I live, so I have no idea how much water I use, but it can't be that much. I take 1 shower/day; rarely I take a 2nd shower if I'm going out at night. I don't have a dishwasher, and I do laundry just once/week. I know that a lot of areas on the western coast of the U.S. are trying to figure out ways to conserve water and to recycle the little bit of rain that they do get, but I don't know much about that.

We are on very high water restrictions at the moment, we have tanks but they are almost empty, so we use any bit of water we can to do other things with without trying to waste any!
