I'm sorry to hear about your loss. And, at such a young age too. This is why I don't let my cats out unless they are in my arms or, on a leash. And, my cat Precious is the the only one leash trained. He will walk himself home from across the parking lot, or if we are in public he'll let himself in the truck. Only precious really is that smart.

Every time I hear about the loss of a furry buddy, I cry. I can't stand to see the poor creatures (whether wild or tame) laying in the road. I make sure that I swerve to miss the bodies out of respect for their beings.
I am saying a special prayer for Pogo. I am soooo sorry for your loss. I worry about my brood especially those who live outside as I live in an area where there is traffic only on weekends and there are a lot of coyotes, mountain lions, bob cats, raccoons and other predatory animals that could take them out. I hold my breath each day when I go out to feed them. Even though they are semi wild, they are still part of my herd of critters.
There is a new star in the sky in remembrance of your dear sweet Pogo. It is shining down on us, along with the stars of our other lost furry buddies that have passed.

I am very sorry to hear about your loss. I know how difficult it can be to lose a beloved pet especially to something so tragic as a road accident. Some people can be such irresponsible and careless drivers...they have no consideration for the animals out there at all. I hope you will always keep her memory in your heart and I bet she will be looking down on you right now form kitty heaven. Take care.

This is why you should keep your cat inside. it happens too often with cats who are allowed to roam. It's too dangerous. If you get another cat, I hope you'll make her an indoor cat. The place I adopted my cat from actually makes you sign a contract saying you will keep the cat inside. It's so much safer that way, and cleaning litter boxes is not THAT bad.
Still, I'm sorry for your loss.
