Hello! Once again I am back for more questions. I am really busy with school that I can't find time anymore to write in myLot, but I get to visit this site from time to time. So here is my topic. I am currently enrolled in Information Technology, and we all know that when you say IT it is kinda bit broad, especially it doesn't really have a real specialization track. I am going to graduate soon, next year actually, and I am planning to enroll again in a University, however, having sibling who will be entering College soon, I have to give way so that they can study. I am taking OJT right now, and I have realized something, that my skills and knowledge are not yet enough for me to enter such big companies. Even I take some of the subjects in my school, it is obvious that I am not yet there. And when I meant I am not yet there, I feel like it is not enough. I was really hoping to work right away but seeing myself right now and my supervisor and her team it seems like I am not yet there. My friend who stopped school for 2 trimester enrolled in TESDA, he said it is just a small program to enhance your skills or learn other things that can't be learned in school. When I looked at their programs, it is kinda bit okay because I want to specialize more on networking, database and others.. I have less favor in programming though, but I am also willing to enhance my skills in there. Unfortunately. I don't know much about TESDA and how they train their students. I am also thinking of Informatics since they provide short courses and others. I mean, I just want to enhance and learn more before I apply in a big time job. I was thinking of working in call center or even in a computer repair shop or something while studying for awhile to gain experience. I was planning to enroll ECE in a University, but with my problem, I don't think I can and that I just thought if I take short program courses that some ECE students take maybe I have at least a bit knowledge. What do you think? Is enrolling in TESDA for short courses good or anything you might to suggest? Thank you.

Well, I don't really believe in TESDA. Some of institution that they've approve to offer short courses are not reliable. I've enrolled in a 6 month caregiver course last 2007. I check to their site (TESDA) and the institution was on their list but when I submitted my application to Canadian embassy. My application was denied. Embassy wrote me that whatever I learned from the institution I enrolled it was not enough and that it was not on their list. I just waste my time, effort and money.
