The etiquette of a super long post.(for the benefit of all)

LOL. If you read my discussion on What is Right, you may appreciate this. Because, of some of the posts I make, questions I ask, and the personality types of people. I encounter a fair amount of "veritable novels" from time to time, as people respond. What is right about this, is that People are participating, and that is what Mylot is all about, I learn many new and interesting things, I build relationships with people that span the globe. What makes that right, well making friends is nice, learning new things can make me a more valuable person, and we all get paid for our efforts. What would be ideal, is if we broke up our responses a bit. I love to read the big long posts, but, it is far easier on the mind as well as the eyes, if there is a bit of space from time to time, I would say every other new thought or so would be "just right"(in my opinion) What is missing that if it were in place would make this ideal, well first and foremost communication of the desire, then understanding of the point of view by the people, so basically people have to know about and empathize reading the super long posts is difficult for some people here. What resources do we need to take our ideal and make it real. Well, we need to spread the word, chances are some people just don't know it is hard to read, because they are really good at it, or the get really exciting in the their typing and don't want to stop, or maybe they believe that if they hit "enter" it will submit their post, straight to it, I think, if we all just politely mentioned it from time to time, it would be all we need to do to make it right. Thank you for your time, I appreciate and each and every one of you, Happy MyLotting. CJscott.

You are in the right right track of how posting is to be done. Make it more understandable, clear and con sized. It is appealing to everybody even how long posting is. We can learn so many things of varied interest. In short simplicity is appealing to our co Lotters.

I am very glad that someone agrees with me. Though most people have it still makes me smile, for a while, I was thinking..."am I the only one" But, I thought I would try this amazingly tactful{in my opinion anyways} approach to address something, and increase the enjoyment of MyLot for all. Have a great day, I appreciate you.

I do have a habit of rambling and not making paragraphs. I apologize for this and will try to be more attentive in the future. Yours is very easy to read, btw.

Think nothing of it dear! I did not post to make anyone feel bad, just make them aware, you know what I mean? Thank you for the compliment, I appreciate you.

I was posting to this just as the update hit and lost it I agree with there should be a limit to responses. I am all for a person that wants to add and participate (because that is what keeps these disucssions going), but just as you are standing in a group of people, no one person should monopolize the entire conversation. Lengthy responses can discourage more posters. I guess I picture a person getting interested in a discussion, then read through the responses and find seven some paragraphs that a person posted as a response. I think that is very discouraging to try to further add to it if one person has to say it all.

Paragraph one - Such is life my friend, no sense worrying over spilt milk, just clean it up and move one. Paragraph two - Nothing about limiting responses was mentioned. Or monopolizing conversations, just politely asking that people split up their responser into paragraphs, just like you do, I appreciate that. I am all for long and many discussions, I love it. Paragraph three - it is my opinion that lengthy responses discourage opportunist posters. 7 paragraph is awesome, if the kind person takes the time to seperate them, the whole of half a second to press "enter" Thank you for your time, I appreciate you.

Helllo, CJscott. I totally agree with you. I love to read long posts, but it's much easier to read if the text is broken up into paragraphs. It's also easier to formulate your own responses if you take in the information in 'bite sized' chunks. I am guilty of the 'veritable novel' posting, but I do break it up and try to keep it interesting, with just two or three main points for the responders to address. I write a lot of articles and also edit for another website, so I have a bit of inside knowledge in that I realise that smaller paragraphs make easier reading.

we really cant avoid a very long post specially if they got carried away with their story. sometimes mylot is there way to express their problem and other things that worries them nor even those very personal story to get some response for them to feel that someone listen to them. if that way it will lessen the burden they have inside. i ued to do that also. i always carried away with my story.

I love long posts, they entertain and inform me. I just thought it would be nice, if folks separated their paragraphs from time to time, to make it easier to read, it is as easy to hit the enter key as it is to it the space bar. I agree completely with what you are saying though, but I said that in my post. Thanks for your time, I appreciate you.

yes you are right i also trhink that mylot is the best way to earning by making friends and getting nice information. we can get new relation, new knowledge from the mylot.com the people who are shy who generally don't want to be talked to much and they who don't want to go on job can earn friends and money online. i am studying right now so i can't go on the job.so that's why i have selected the mylot.com mylot is good site to earn money, but it is somewhat difficult to spend much time in writting. so they should think about this, hoe one can earn simply.

I have a two friends, one that just started college, he wants to be a lawyer, after about 8 years, he is going to graduate, and be in debt, and need to find a good job fast, to pay that off. The other just started her own network marketing business, after about 8 years, she will be making around 15000 a month. Thanks for your time, I appreciate you.

CJ, I think those unpleasant looking long posts will be a thing of the past and I am not sure if you had noticed some changes or rather improvements here as far as long post is concerned. Lately, I find post being paragraphed and much easier on the eyes. I think this is because of the good works being done by Alice and the administrations here. I think it is understandable prior before the changes were implemented, our post will look nothing but alien especially after coming out from a preview and hit the submit button. All that spacing and paragraphing just disappear into cyber twilight and frustratingly it wasn't any fault of the member. Well, all that's being addressed now, and even after we preview the draft and submit - the actual text will be according to our original layout. Furthermore, our notification is displaying the original layout as well. So, again kudos for the administrations here.

Yes Kudos to the admin. Though, I must say, in my particular situation, such is not the case, because, it only started happening in the last few days. Perhaps, users are just used to the mangling of old, and haven't yet tried to change. I appreciate you.
