Hi Mylotters!
Do you like the name your parents gave you? My real name is "catherine" and I like it. However, it's such a common name and I would want something unique. when I was still a student, there would be at least 2 or 3 of us with the same name, and sometimes, it can cause an identity crisis. But if given a chance, I would not change it, coz it's the combination of my parents name. Maybe I could add a unique second name to it but I won't change the original.
How about you, Do you like your name? If you could change your name, what would it be and why?

Nirisha is a very pretty name! I like it very much and what it means! What language is it? Do you know?
My name is Libna. It is hebrew and it means white, pure. I like it very much, I've met some Libnas over the internet, but I still think it is quite unique.
Catherine: I like your name, too. My husband wants to name our first girl Kathryn, its similar.
Well, have a nice day you two. Libna. Keep mylotting happily ever after!

I like my name to be change since i just discover i have many duplicate name and the worst when I join friendster and facebook, I almost have more than 20 names which also have the same similar surnames as mine which is quite a bit shocking so when their friends tag their photos it is also mix in my album which is so annoying . That is why i decided to put my middle name initial so it never get mix from the other person who have the similar names as mine. If ever i would like to change my name to something unique but since it is the name where my closer friends and relatives identify me I have no c oice but just learn to love and live with it.

I do like my name especially since I am named after my mother. I have met a few people with my name, but not too many. I think when people have unique names or family names it is great. I would not change my name.

Yes, I very much like my name and my Name is Vincent. It's quite common but it is what my parents named me. We should acknowledge that our parents took quite some time think over and over of what they should call their child we should not be dismayed because it is common but we should appreciate because its a way they show their love for us. Not all of us can have a unique name because it would not be unique any more he he.

I love my name, when I was younger I would have changed to it John, or Dean, or Joe, Or Jake, Or Tyler, or any other common name in the world.
I am a Caucasian male, I live in Canada, my name is Chysom...as in the Chisholm trail. Or the John Wayne movie Chisum.....that is just they way it is pronounced, very unique.
Elementary and Junior High Schools, were horrid, high school not so much.
Cheers.

I LOVE my name, but upon seeing it many people find my English suspect so in work and writing , and even my facebook business page I use a pseudonym.
(I've never mentioned my name on mylot either, and I often used a simplfied version in school so even many of my close friends are unaware of my actual name.)

Of course, I love my name to bits. It is unique and beautiful. My real name is Ray Shello. Some would expect that I am a man because of that name but nope, obviously I am a woman. That name was given to me by my godmother. She told me that its meaning is " A Ray From Heaven". Ray for the english word "ray" which means a drop of sunlight and Shello for the Spanish word "cielo" which means heaven. But honestly, I encountered some inconvenience in writing my name for its too long and the spelling of my Shello is different from the one being used. And during my preschool years I was using a different spelling but when I got my live birth certificate then I switched to the correct one: Ray Shello. No, it never came unto me to change my name cause I love it.

I really don't like my name. It was my mother's name. And, no I didn't share her first name and last name like most children do I shared her entire name. I'm actually a "II" And, it was nice when I was young, but when I got older it was difficult. I had to use either my date of birth, or my social secerity number to idenitify myself.
Shortly after my mom past away. (well maybe not that short it was like a year later) Someone called looking for one of us. I thought all the important people I knew were informed of my mother's passing. So I asked the woman to give me more personal information she wouldn't. I still to this day didn't know to whom she was refering, but I informed the woman that my mother had passed away and when.
Now that she is no longer living, the confusion has cut down a lot. But, not wanting to continue the streek (and because most people only ask for one midle inisial and not two) I dropped my second middle name, and I only use my first first middle name and last.
Sometimes I just want to change my name completely, but I can't.

Hi there!! I used to not like my name because I was the only one at school but now I like it a lot. Its also a combination of my origins (French and Italian) So my surname and my last name reflect exactly who I am and where Im from I guess.
But on the internet, I have a brand new identity and I like that one too.

actually, even before the advent of internet, i already knew there were lots of individuals with the same name as me -- first name and family name. only the middle name varies. when i was 25, i learned there were more than 30 individuals, all adults, having the same name as me. you know how i learned it. i went to get a clearance from our own national bureau of investigation, and voila, three of the more than 30 guys have pending warrants of arrest for committing serious crimes. so, i was grilled and was even asked to secure a clearance from the courts before i was issued clearance to travel.
