How do you feel about the new credit card laws? I think some of it will do some good. One that I really like is that anyone under the age of 21 will require a co-signer unless they can prove their income is sufficient to cover the credit bills. The lenders are no longer able to jack up the interest rates on you...although most of these predators have already done so, in a rush to beat these new laws to the books. There will also be no more universal default, meaning you cannot have your interest rate on your cards jacked up because you were late paying your utility bills, basically they can't hold another default somewhere else in your life against you. It's too bad they were able to inflate their interest rates before the laws went into effect, but something is better than nothing I guess, even though in that sense it's already hurt most of us, the average American.

It was certainly time that something be done with the credit card companies. They were stealing the public blind and there was not much that could be done about it. The frightening part of this law is that now you will really know how bad your debt is. Since creit card companies will now be required to show how long it will take to pay the bill of if you pay only the minimal amount. Scarry. It will look worse than your car loan. LOL
The good part for me is that I only have one card currently with a balance and as soon as my income tax return shows I am paying it off. YEAH!!!!
