been out of my lot for a year or so. am now working in a different country and with a different language and culture. its quite difficult to adjust since people here speak little english. some says that the best way to adjust is to embrace the host countrys culture which is quite difficult since every now and then you will compare it with own culture. dear my lotters, what do you think is the best way?

It is a good idea to embrace the culture of the host country, but it is also a good idea to do it at your pace. Be yourself and what you like to do. Many colleges have people that speak multiple languages. Clubs are also a good starting point, if you have an interest in what is offered. Another idea is to become friends with your neighbors if any are close and willing to engage you. Is there a church close that you would feel comfortable in attending. It is mainly up to you and what you want to do outside of your comfort zone. Have fun with settling in!
