For some things, such as shirts, shorts, skirts, and coats, I don't have an issue with buying secondhand. Hats, undergarments, shoes, and socks are an issue with me. Whenever I purchase secondhand, I always bring the items to the laundry before I wear them.

i never thought i'd buy clothes second hand. But, after i had my daughter, money was tight. We lived near a neighborhood where there were great garage sales. I loved going garage saleing for baby clothes, toys, etc. I once got a trash bag full of great conditioned name brand clothes for $5.00. how can you go wrong with that!

That's definitely a good bargain! I love garage sales too especially with clothes and furniture and kitchen stuff. I know how it is when we have other obligations and money is tight we learn to make both ends meet and cut back on excesses and save where we can save.

i actually love second hand clothing stores BUT I also love to sew and do DIY clothes so buying something second-hand and recon-ing it into something new and unique is ideal...

As long as my clothes are clean, comfortable and paid for I have no worries about them being second-hand/previously owned/cast offs or whatever you want to call them. I've had some great clothes from our local charity shops and from ebay and i have hoodies and t-shirts that my son's either grown out of or rejected.

If the clothes are still in good shape, then there is no reason not to get them. After all, you could find some deals for some clothes in decent shape. I know I have in the past. Some people overlook these types of stores, because they just have to have the latest fashions or think that these clothes are absolute rubbish that no one wants anymore.
However, you can find some decent clothes. I never really was into having new clothes. As long as they fit and were in decent shape, then I couldn't care if they were the latest and hippest models. Of course, saving money and getting deals was the only trend that I was ever in. So, I'm not about to pass up any deals if the clothing is still in good shape, rather it is at a second hand store or a garage sail or anywhere else.
