I just saw in news channel that Brett lee have announced his retirement in test cricket. He said that he want to prolong in t20 and odi so he have to retire in test cricket.
Though I'm great fan of Indian cricket team I like Brett lee very much.Really he is a talented bowler. He loves to maintain friendship to the opposite team member. Not every player does like that.
What you think about his retirement.Though we are not to do anything in his retirement.Just share your views.I personally feel he should be there in test cricket for some more time.

Is he really? I must say I am surprised. He may be older than he looks but I thought he might be a bit too young to retire from Test Cricket. I hope it doesn't catch on. What are your thoughts on T20 cricket? Do you like it? Me and hubby are English and prefer the Test Matches because that's what we've grown up with. I think T20 is designed to keep the young entertained because they haven't got the patience to sit through a Test Match. That's my opinion anyway...and yes, Brett Lee is an extremely good player...for an Aussie lol.

Well that's true. Cricket is cricket in all its formats and if the youngsters can get into the T20 perhaps they will go to a Test Match out of curiousity. It's a great game though, we love it. I've never been to a live game but my husband has. I think I might try and persuade us to go over the summertime if England play in County Durham, which isn't far from us.

Ya of course I like t20 as well as test matches.I'm great fan of cricket. So I will enjoy all forms of cricket. As you said T20 is to keep the young entertained, actually it is not .Nowadays the ground is full even for the test cricket. But some are interested in T20 than in test cricket as you said. Finally we should just enjoy all forms of cricket.

brett lee has been struggling with injuries for a while now and has not been at his best. the retirement of mcgrath and other bowlers meant that he had to bear the major part of the workload which was putting too much pressure on him physically. and the lure of t20 would have got to him as well. he would have struggled in test matches bowling long spells so it seems to be the correct decision.

I don't really agree that he was pressured and that led to injuries due to the retirement of Glenn McGrath. You can get Injured at any time and he just had bad luck.

Pressure does not lead to injuries. injuries are part and parcel of the game. mcgrath got retired and lee had to shoulder the responsibility. he has struggled to do it in test matches. and now the lure of t20 cricket with big money has lured him to retire from test cricket. flintoff also convinced him. he is another guy who left test cricket for money.

Australia need him in the test squad for their performance greatly depends on him being in the team...
the team has already lost many of its good players and if bret lee stops playing for them then i guess they would be devastated.
their team although has the potential it still need the seniors to stay around and help out he new players....

I have also come to know that Bret Lee is retiring from the tests. Bret Lee is one of the few sportsperson that has great fan following all over the world. I honestly admire him because of his affable nature. I think Bret has taken a great decision as Tests can shorten hi career. Now he can focus on shorter versions of the game.

I agree with your first point you made, He is a great sportsman and is respected for his work ethic and sportsmanship by other players from other Countries just as much as his Australia team mates.

ya i cant believe his decision . he is a very good bowler and he shoulf=d have continued his test career . i dont why many players are retiring from test cricket just to concentrate on the odi and the t20s . the real pleasure of cricket is the test matches . i think he has made a wrong decision . i would like to see brett lee bowling to sachin in test cricket . players should not leave test cricket for t20 s

I guess, he must have followed other players way like taking in mind FLintoff's decision to quit on test cricket and also Brett Lee has had leg injuries in the past which may have forced him to retire from longer version of the game. Of course, the most talented fast bowler from Australia would be really missed in test cricket, but I think that it is the only way that faster bowlers can prolong their career in international cricket!!

Brett Lee has been a great servant to the game of Cricket and I will be sad to see him retire from the Test game but I knew that it would not be long as he has had his series of injuries recently and Australia are in a period of change since the Retirements of the likes of Shane Warne, Glen McGrath, Matthew Hayden and of course Justin Langer who represented my county Somerset.
Brett Lee has 310 Test Wickets and has been a very important member of the Aussie team for so long that he will be sorely missed as a Player and also in the dressing room.
