Do you like to talk online or face to face with your friend?

After I have a computer, I find that there is less and less time I talk face to face with my friends. What I often do is sit in front of my computer and chat online with them. This is very convenience, because I do not have to step out of my room and we could share about our feelings more often. But after all, internet is virtual, so this may be not very good for our friendship.

I could do either one. I enjoy face to face over coffee or dining out. And I also like online because it's kind of a fun way of communication. I also find it a good way to do two things at once. I am a people person so as long as I can interact with people, I am good. I love spreading my good moods and hopefully rub off on other people.

I prefer face to face talk with my friends because it is a much actualization way to communicate and it is the most efficient way to commute ideas, feelings, and emotions. However, geography distance between people in the real world avoid the face to face talk, and internet becomes the solution for that. Now, internet visual technology help us to set up another kind of face to face communication. We can face to face others without step out of our room. However, internet visual technology still can not replace the face to face communication with others in real although the effect are the same, because the feeling is different.

Hi, Marmot, yeah, as you said, face to face talk with friends is very different from communicate online. Face to face communication could be more accurate to communicate your feelings and emotions. You could know what others' thinking better and thus be more efficient.

If my friendship is my closest friend, if online is only our chance to speak with each other, that will be fine with me, but I wish to see her in person when we have time. Most of the time we change messages through cellphone and we text each other almost everyday. When my friend is just a virtual friends, like those of chatmates I met online, to talk with them on chat is a privilege already. I can talk to them online, even if they don’t want to see me in person, I can still continue the friendship. I like both actually, if there is more convenient, I will pursue it. I can talk online and face and face anytime, whichever is available.

Well it depends in the situation. I would usually prefer to talk face to face rather than online. But there are certain occasions that I need to have my message across and would be more convenient to do it online.

Of course I still want to hang out with my friend personally. Friendship on the world wide web differs a lot than keeping in touch with friends personally. Although some found their lifetime partners on the net. And may it be friendship on the net or not still it brings out the best in us.

It would be better to talk face to face. But if there's no way than online chatting, it is better to have communication than nothing at all.

the internet is very helpful to me. I connect with my friends through chat. I like to chat, because I can not always get out of the house. I had to have at home every day. so that I could not meet with my friends. one way to keep in touch with my friends, only through the chat.

As much as I would like to talk with my friends face to face, it is not going to happen since most of them now live miles away from me. My best friend lives in another city, an hour plane away from me. So, the most we can do is chat online and everyday. It works anyway. It is much better than not having to talk at all. We send txt messages also everyday and before we go to sleep. We need to make everything possible, communicate most often to keep the friendship strong. Online communication is much better that not being able to communicate at all.

is better if me and my friend can talk face to face, because we can know how the reaction or emotion of our friend. by talking through internet, sometimes we still can hide something. yeah.. nowadays, our time is less to make meeting with our friends, so the only way to keep our relationship is by using some technologies such as internet or telephones.

I would not go online just to talk to a friend. The friend might not be online. I prefer to talk to my friend in person unless I know the conversation is going to be a short one and one that is out of courtesy or obligation.

Front Yard - I took this picture, I love nature.
I really do most of my talking on the internet. I do not do good face to face. I have been try- ing and will keep trying. I know this is some thing I need to do. I am most of the time a loner, they say this is bad for me. I do not see why. I am happy as I can see.

We can talk face to face but for which we have to update the computer and additional expenditure we have to incur. Very big conference are held sitting at their own place. It avoids expenditure of tour, food and expenses and above all it will disturb their work.

Talking to a friend online or face to face depends on availability of mine and friend. I prefer to talk to a friend face to face if possible but it is not always that friends are available and me too so most of the time we catch friends online. Also, it depends what we want to talk , I do not like to talk professional things on chat that should be face to face. Sometimes I prefer to talk on phone when they are not available for face to face to chat. Anything but message should be clear enough to understand :)

it depends. there are friends whom we've know for a long time, even before the age of the chat and the internet. we would normally talk to them face to face. on the other hand, there are friends we've "met" in the internet and elsewhere who prefer to communicate through the internet, that's where the virtual dialogue comes in. it is very convenient, even if informal. unlike when you talk to a friend face to face, the warmth and friendship is there.
