Everytime I search in the search engine for Anime, I always see a result that is always connected or related to naruto. It seems like every myLot member is a naruto lover..everybody is blabbing about him. But seriously, IMO, Naruto is waaaayyy too overrated. There are animes out there that deserves the attention naruto is always getting. I really can't understand why naruto is so popular...maybe it was because of the publicity it always gets. Or maybe the cameo appearances of other animes. If you carefully observe it's movies, the effects and animation isn't all that great especially the plot of the series. Naruto doesn't really deserve the spotlight....i'm sorry if I bashed naruto but please, share you're opinions..

You're not the only one. If you've seen some of my other posts you'll know that I'm not a Naruto lover either. And you make a good point there. You can't go anywhere, like anime forums, without a bunch of people wanting to talk about Naruto. And don't get me started on some of those obsessed Naruto fans. I've actually been personally attacked before in forums because I commented that I didn't like the show. I wouldn't mind if people logically explained why the show was great to them and such but coming out and calling me stupid isn't going to endear the show to me. It's like a disease that just won't go away.
I personally don't see the appeal of the show. I mean, it's not bad or anything but there are dozens of other shows out there that are way better than Naruto. The thing is that those shows don't get as much promotion or exposure like Naruto. I'm just hoping some other big show will come along and take most of the spotlight away from it. But I don't see that happening any time soon, sadly.

Yeah, you're right!! The reason why naruto is so popular is because of OVEREXPOSURE. In my observation, the producers (and sponsors most probably) are not spending money to make the effects, graphics, and animations better, unlike Detective Conan. If you watch all the movies of D.C, you can see the 3D effects and all the episodes are in HQ and HD (except the first 3 seasons).
The original icon of anime is actually haruhi suzumiya, but I really fail to see what made naruto beat and replace Haruhi...

Haha...thanks for the best response!
Well, for the animation, I did notice that it was a bit better for the Shippuuden series. Not by a lot but there was some change.
As for why Naruto beat out Haruhi, blame it on those little 12 year old fans who are obsessed with Naruto (no offense meant). I'm pretty sure that most of them don't even understand the appeal and uniqueness of the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.

lol...you're welcome :)
Just like what i've said to kiel_d_01, you can't really learn anything from naruto aside from fighting with a chakra. From what i've read and heard, the only thing you can learn about naruto is 'friendship'. No more No less. Besides, Naruto is not really worth watching because it has lots of fillers and flashbacks which is reeeeaaallly irritating..

you're not the only one ahaha!!
idk why they find the characters cute or hot or whatever
I think that there's just something in it that's not getting in to me

I agree with you!! The action scenes are quite intimidating for me, but not to the point that I look forward to every 'chakra' scene. Aside from that, Naruto is not informative. That is one factor I look for in an anime. You should learn something while watching an anime series. I'm not saying naruto is useless, it actually teaches you something about friendships (that's what I heard)..but no more no less.

haha.. thats ok... actually i was a real naruto fan... THE young naruto, not the shippuuden one... I loved how naruto cherished the relationship he had with sasuke.. all the drama when they had to part and how sasuke decided to break that bond.. all the comedies and others.. but because the story has become sooo long.. so i do not follow naruto anymore.. I like one piece better haha

I don't agree with you guys at all... I don't have anything against what you guys think but I think Naruto deserves the spotlight... Some anime's lack story, some lack beautiful graphics, some lack sense, some lack fun and humor, some lack value, and some lack excitement - but Naruto has it all! I have favorite animes aside from Naruto - but I guess its the only anime that has story good enough to make me want for more...

It's okay if you don't like Naruto, I don't find that anime to be that interesting too!
I don't really know why do my friends love to watch it, and the episode is like, hundred plus plus?

Naruto is an awesome it only gets a bad rep because in English dubbed it kind of sucks. I watch the English subbed episodes. The bad thing is it has so many filler episodes, but still I love watching Naruto...Believe it!!!

Actually, you're not alone. I'm getting tired of Naruto myself.
For me, among the current anime series, ONE PIECE is the much more tolerable anime. Why? Because every character there actually shines. In Naruto, it's always about Sasuke's angst and Naruto's antics. I am so sick and tired of this saga.
I hope they end it already!

I dont dislike nor like Naruto. I have seen so episode on Cartoon Network, but im more like mehhh, whatever. I agree with you that there are better animes out there and Naruto is way overrated. Personally i prefer an anime such as Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood(completely different from the first show, and imo 1000³ better than the first one). A year ago i would say Bleach, but now im starting to hate Bleach, fillers are making this show soooooo annoying. I hate that there are more fillers than actual episodes and hate when they are in the middle of something and interrupt it for stupid fillers.

I watched the early episodes online with subtitles before they were available in the states, and I really liked the series, but when it came to the US I didn't care for it as much.
I think this is because the characetrs (Naruto particularly) have annoying voices. So, yes, I am, not a big Naruto fan although I used to like it quite a bit.

Naruto is pretty awesome, but the producers just had to make it fail with its episodes long fillers, and each new show on Japan appears only once every week. If only they got rid of these fillers will it regain its awesomeness again.
But with the shipuuden series where later in it they start adding elemental thingies, I'm starting to have doubts on the series. The show is slowly getting to overpowered levels comparable to how dragonball slowly became fail as everyone was getting stronger.
