Never too old for Cartoons?

Okay so Im almost 19 but I find myself still watching cartoons and not Family Guy or Simpsons...no I watch the preschooler ones that I watched when I was a kid like Franklin, Magic Scool Bus, Arthur etc. I personally dont think that there is anything wrong with watching them but some people would probably tell you to grow up. I just think its a nice way to look back at your child hood and the memories.
What do you think? Are there any cartoons that you still like to watch even though you are a teenager or adult? Are they cartoons that you watched when you were a kid or that you are just getting into now? What are they?

I'm 34 years old and I am still watching cartoons. I guess there is something in them that makes me appreciate how the people behind them creates these moving illustrations. You can see how they evolve through the years just like in the case of the Justice League (superfriends during my childhood days). Batman the animated series when it was first shown here in the Philippines was classified as GP or general patronage, but later on due to the nature of the story line it was reclassified to Parental Guidance. In summary, I like watching them even at my age but I do prefer how the story line goes.

Yes and we should trult appreciate all the work that does go into the cartoons especially the old hand drawn ones. I sure since we didnt really realize as children that it took that much effort to make a program like that. Alot of cartoons that do evolve over the years which makes it great for future generations to still get to watch something that we watched when we were young. Thanks for your answer.

yeah we never get too old for watching cartoons, even now, when I am 21 years old i still watch Tom and Jerry and some other cartoons and I also watch animations. Well, there are some people, especially boys, who think watching cartoons means being weak and still a child and girls will not like you, but i am actually sorry for that guys, because they really don't know what are they missing! One of my favorite animations is Flushed away and RObots- two very interesting animations, which worth being watchedz!

I am a adult female and trust me there are a lot of us who like cartoons. I guess for right now you aren't meeting the right girls. I love Disney movies and can't wait for the next animated release. The fact that those movies continue to capture fans of all ages tell you cartoons will live forever.

Well I am way older than 19 but I love watching cartoons. I love boomerang, disney channel. I also like you have watched Franklin, Arthur, Curious George, etc. I have no kids. What draws me to these cartoons I believe is the characters and a lot of cartoons today just aren't as good as they use to be. I love the old Hanna Barbera cartoons like The Flintstones, Jetsons, etc. I do like The Simpsons. There is nothing wrong with letting that little kid out. I could name other cartoons but I am sure you get the idea. It will be interesting to see how many lotters on here will confess to what cartoons they really watch. I also think when we grow up with these shows and characters they are a friendly reminder and make us recall how happy we were when we were kids watching them. I don't tell a lot of people cause I also agree with you they would probably think what is wrong with us. So welcome to the secret cartoon watching club. I just put in under a guilty pleasure. Happy Cartooning.

Awesome! Yes the peanuts gang rocks. There is just no other cartoon like it. I think it was one of the best of all time and most entertaining. Most of the stuff they make today could never live up to a classic like that in my opinion.
P.S. I LOVE ANIMALS TOO!!

I think its great to see that other teens and adults still like to watch the great old classics that are cartoons. Its cool that we have similar interests as I too like the flintstones and the jetsons...even my mom likes to watch those two oldies. I agree that it would be nice for other mylotters to just let loose and tell us about their guilty pleasure of still indulging in cartoons even if its just now and then. It will be cool to see which ones we have in common with other people and even remember some that we havent seen in ages. I also have to add that your username (being snoopy) made me remeber that how at christams and easter and halloween I love to catch the Charlie Brown Specials. I even have them on DVD. lol Thanks and happy cartooning to you too!

I'm 19 as well, and I love cartoons. I do like Family Guy, but I also love Disney cartoons (the classic ones with Mickey and Donald and Goofy) and shows I loved when I was a kid like Hey Arnold, Rocko's Modern Life, Rugrats and Angry Beavers. I don't think its weird if you're and adult and you watch them every once in a while, but I will say if you watch them constantly and follow every single episode it is a little weird, lol. w

Yeah I use to watch both Rugrats and Hey Arnold too. I will say though I do watch some cartoons everyday but they are all repeats of ones that I watched as a kid so I do remember them but I am not following any new episodes that are airing but I think even if someone did that would be fine.

I love watching cartoons. They are entertaining, funny, lighthearted and a good watch. I have children of my own now and we often spend those rainy days watching cartoons. When i was younger I loved Scooby-Doo but it's not the same as it used to be. I actually prefer the new stuff that is on TV. I don't know if you get it in your country but Horrid Henry is a good one.

There is nothing wrong with that. I skipped a few morning classes in college to watch Sesame Street. There is something comforting sometimes, about watching the shows you watched when you were a kid. I don't watch any cartoons right now, but I guarantee I would watch Smurfs today if it was still on. (Yeah I'm old. lol) I do own some Mickey Mouse and Tweety on DVD though. (They are mine--I don't have kids.)

Hi fluffysue, I think its awesome that you would skip school just to watch cartoons. Truly shows that you are a hardcore fan lol. I actually watched a smurf christmas special just last year. I think they show the actual episodes on a retro cartoon channel that I get on my network. My sister who is seven years older than me is also a mickey mouse fan and owns the dvds, she too has no kids but just loves to watch them herself.

I am fond of watching cartoon show too and I even have collection of them which i handed it over to my nieces and nephew. I am more in focus now days to collect CGI movies or computer generated images from movies which look like a real one. I really like the way modern technology through the use of advanced graphics which is much clear images and voice technology. The plain cartoon becomes more excellent and they are both appealing not only to kids but also to adults young at heart.

Yes, my dear friend. I'm now 37 (35 on birth certificate) but damn care my age while watching cartoon. I love them a lot and will be till the last day of my life. I've watched so many cartoons in my life till date starting from KumKum to latest Ben10... and so on. I still love bursting into hilarious guffaw without any hesitation while watching Tom and Jerry. I don't care whatever people thinks about me. Moreover, laughter is the best medicine.
Have a nice day.

It was a good time and every once in a while I indulge in the cartoons I used to watch. I catch them on hulu every now and then. I'm glad they can still be found these days. The littles was my favorite.

No age limit is right my friend. And if you like something as a kid then why shouldnt you still like it and want to watch it into your teens and even adulthood. I remember my dad (who is now over 60) watching The Magic School Bus a few years back and my mom watching Berenstein Bears. I never thought what the heck are they doing watching those shows.
Oh yes Tom and Jerry such a classic. It is actually a show before my time but I have watched it and they now have a retro cartoon channel on my network where I can catch it.

I like to relive the good ol' days and then some.
Disney XD or DXD:
Gargoyles (Nearly the entire of "Star Trek: NG" did voice-overs on this show)
Superman: The Animated Series (TAS)
Batman: TAS
Superman and Batman: TAS
Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends
The Amazing Spider-Man (This show wasn't far from "going there")
X-Men (This show totally went there)
Fantastic Four (This show slightly pushing it when they aired the "Namor" episodes)
The Incredible Hulk
The Incredible Hulk and She-Hulk (This should seriously been adults)
Silver Surfer (It wasn't that great, but it said somewhat true to the comics)
The Avengers (Again, when Namor is brought into any show, it's going to get put on late night television)
Iron Man (Seriously, this should not have been a kids show, read the "Iron Man" comics and then see what I mean)
Spider-Man: Unlimited (Marvel's biggest mistake next to "Howard the Duck")
Cartoon Network
Ben 10: Alien Force (I love Kevin and Gwen. Seriously, these two could probably have a show all their own)
Marvel's Super Hero Squad (Squadies and Iron Man's love for the ladies, 'Nuff said!)
Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes (Again, Namor and She-Hulk equal "adult content)
Just about anything on Adult Swim and Boomerang
Justice League
Justice League: Unlimited
Batman Beyond
The Super Friends
Okay, I love superhero shows, seriously. I also love Animanics, Pinky and the Brain, Tiny Toon Adventures, Hysteria, Freakazoid (most people will never remember this show), The Tick, Action League Now, Invader Zim, and there are so many others.

I think all of us still watches cartoons once in a while. I do still watch the shows that I watched when I was a kid when I catch it on TV. It just brings so many good memories, and I can't help but smile and be happy whenever I watch them. My boyfriend on the other hand is addicted to spongebob. He just loves watching the show and even the reruns. You cannot change the channel until the show is over or else he'll get really mad. Hahahha.

Sponge Bob Square Pants, GhostFighter, SlamDunk, Avatar, Jimmy Neutron and I'm already in my mid 20's lol... I like watching cartoons.. Don't know why but I really like the funny moments and how it relieves my stress from work. I like Japanese Anime's more than American Cartoons since the drawings are really nice and the stories are very good and wonders how come this Anime's have big eyes.. Bigger that other parts of their bodies yet look so cute... When I was younger I like Sailormoon, Gundam Wing and Dragon Ball Z... I like an Anime Hideiko Shingi I think not sure of the title.. Its about 1 girl who looks like Sadako and 4 gorgeous looking guys.. Whenever she sees beautiful people she has nose bleeds I like the drawing and well its dubbed in our language so its funnier hehehe...
Oh and I like Blue's Clue and Dora... Don't know why but I like watching this hahaha...

You are right Family Guy and South Park are not for young children but I was talking about watching cartoons that are for young children like arthur and franklin and such shows like that. But both kinds of cartoons are still ok for adults to watch though so why not watch them then right.
