This statistic is from quite a while ago, although no idea if it has improved. You have to remember that living costs in other countries are also much much higher.

well, guess that you are right about the living costs, but I also think that the standard of live and the amounts that people get for their work is much much higher

I don't know really how it can be true... We spend more than we earn every month... isn't it strange? We are wizards...

Hi, Elly!
Good question, actually! Let me try to explain what's going on in Bulgaria nowadays.
You know, just over 20 years ago our country became democratic country. People were celebrating and being happy that the new time finally came! They were celebrating like a war has come to an end. And it was, in one hand. But they didn't know what's next. Everybody says we're in economic crisis. Well, maybe the people already forgot what real big crisis Bulgaria had during the 90s. There was a moment when people even had problems with buying a bread. Whatever! There were bigger crisis moments that the current one. Now this game called "crisis" is played by big people just to kill the smaller firms. That's the point in this crisis . . . Also in Bulgarian you can work for more than 300-400leva per month only in Sofia and the Black Sea and mountain resorts. The people from Sofia don't like that almost all the province is coming to Sofia. Well, who to blame? They just can't survive, that's why they're coming to Sofia. The economy in Vidin, for example, is already killed at all. Now the economy in Vidin is being resurrected by the big market brands. You know what I mean. The little are being eaten by the big ones. The little are people like my parents, your parents and why not us too. The times will change soon, we're not going to stay in this situation any longer. We just gotta fight and try not to be somebody's slaves. Because that's what the politics were trying to do with us - they want the girls to become bitc*s, the boys - hard dirty workers who kiss their butt. In one word - slaves!
Let's hope that our great hero Boyko Borisov will safe us I'm laughing but he's the prime-minister now.

hi Elly! Yes, it is really sad how many people in our country survive, yes, survive is the right word here, with 200 euro per month and there are even people who live with less than 400 leva which I think is a mockery with the people. you know there are many people went abroad with all their families, just because they want a normal, not just better, i mean normal live, because the government here offers them nothing else but misery! by the way a nice discussion!

Hello, very good discussion and yes, we really "live" with that money ...
And yes, i still don't know how we can do it, but actually i see that our bars and discotheques are full with people.
I prefer our country to have 200 years history, not like now, since 681 to now, but people to live better way. All this years, spent in surviving are making most of them maliciously, envious, intrigues, mutter ...
I don't know what must happen for us, to change something and i'm not sure people, who live here have the power to do it if it's only political walls all around. Our politics steal every day from out money, our happiness and our health, our normal life. Not because of corruption, because of the missing good plan, which can make us happy, because of the missing rules all around, because of the bureaucracy.
I'm sure they have great wishes to make our life better, but their plan doesn't work and we can't feel it.

There are many things to say and this is really unresolved mystery. But i'm really annoyed by the fact that everyone complains how they don't have money - well yes if u're lazy you can't expect salary like an american , but if somebody want to have money and live a normal life - they'll find a way.
There is noting given , you must earn it by yourself.
Cheers
