Hello John! Nice to see a fellow Filipino here! Are you considering going abroad to land a job as a librarian? My aunt is a librarian in California, and so far the pay is good as what she told me. If you want to be one in the Philippines, you might want to try applying in Ateneo de Manila in Katipunan. They have a new library built which just opened last year, and I think that will be a good place to start. The Ateneo pays really well, and they treat their employees really good too! Nice environment to work in as well. Regards and good luck!

A lot of people these days are working in an industry that is not in-line with what they have studied. My friends, for instance, studied Nursing but ended up in a call center, and there's nothing wrong with that. These days, working in a call center is very financially rewarding. What I'm pointing out, however, is that, it seems like almost everyone is heading towards that direction for practical reasons, but the thing is, somehow they just wasted the years of studying and finishing their courses without trying their luck in their field yet. Anyway, I know that there are places where librarians are needed so don't lose hope.
