many of us think that we have seen 200 from sachin because T'20 cricket has come to our observation, otherwise we may not see that inning.I think there r many player who can score two or three times than the no of balls he faced, but they cannot be sachin & also sachin does not play T'20 special shot.So i don't think any player can break or equalise the record in this kind of modern technology applicable cricket.what do u think???????????????????????..............

no not really. sachin has got close to 200 on previous occasions as well. even dhoni made 183 once and we thought he could have got there had sri lanka score some more runs. sachin does not play t20 so no connection with that. it will be very tough for anyone to break this particular record from the many set by tendulkar.

what is your discussion about? is it about someone getting a 200 or about teams chasing down big totals. India has chased down 325 against England in the natwest trophy and 350 against wet indies in India. so it ha always been possible to chase down big scores. we saw in the India vs England test match recently where India chased down a big target courtesy of sehwag and tendulkar. another match would be south Africa chasing a big total against Australia in a test match. are those also due to t20 matches or because of their ability. either way no one will be able to get 200 runs in a one day for a long long time.

let me clear my friend, I don't want to argue with you.plz read the discussion,u can see that as a summary I want to know what is the reason for that some of us(not you) thinking that many one can reach 200 in future. but for your 2nd reply I want to say what magic had occurred for that we saw India win chasing 387 in the 4th innings on Indian soil,do their ability up suddenly? There must be a reason for that they think that they can chase the total.is it not for the run by ball comparison.

i think, before 3 or 4 years we can't expect a team to win ceasing 350+ runs.but now we r not sure that a team can win a game scoring 350+ runs . what is the reason u think? is it not the effect of T'20 where 80 runs can be scored in 35/30 balls????????????????????

it is not mainly due to the effect of T20, butits mainly due to the effect of power play overs which bring these run hike. thats what i belive.

power play overs was also there previously,u can say that it is batting power play. But when sachin is on fire then i think no power play is needed because he never play a shot which is applicable for only when field restriction is on.isn't it?????

sachin scored first hundred in 28 overs in 90 balls. second hundred in 57 balls in 22 overs with 5 overs of field restriction. is it really the power play effect? 15 power play overs inside 28 overs and sachin got 100. only 5overs of power play and he gets the next hundred. decide for yourself if it is the power play effect or the tendulkar effect.

There are plenty of factors regarding Sachin's 200 runs knock. I think it can be attributed to two factor one is powerplay and other is t20 cricket. Due to powerplay restriction the batsman has more chance to score at a rapid pace therefore we will see more of this kind of hard hitting action in future . Due to emergence of t20 we have seen scores of over 300 are being chased by teams so so easily.

I think u miss a point & that is player's ability. As I said previously that that there r many one whom we see playing big shots from the beginning, that is also the effect of T'20 but they can't convert their score into big number because they do not have the ability to do so.

Yes, after seeing Tendulkar's 200 knock I think many young cricketers would be keen to get there. Although, I don't think its the influence of T20 as Tendulkar as merely played only 1 T20 cricket match throughout his career. When asked on the presentation, Tendulkar said he wish to see an India to break his mile-stone. Also, getting 200 runs in an ODI is one HUGE task if you ask me. It's not going to be easy. When you score a hundred and if you have more wickets in hand, you need to start playing aggressively to help the team put a big score on the board. So, a lot of players might get out trying to hit the ball hard. I think it will take tons of effort combined with experience for someone to achieve that mile stone yet again.
