Yes, that is right. I have a daughter-in-law now (happy dance). As many of you know, my son served 7 years in the U.S. Army. I am so grateful to all who wrote welcome home notes to him when he would come home on leave and such. But now, I get to share the news with you..........He got married!!!!
He got married on 9/11/2009 in a simple ceremony at the courthouse. The big wedding is this Saturday (2/27/2010). The hustle and bustle that is going on around me is wonderful. My son is home safe and he is so happy, he glows. I love seeing his smile.
As for my new daughter-in-law.........let me introduce "Nikki". She is tall, slender and has beautiful red hair. Guess what??? She smiles all the time too.
Well, at least, you all know now why I have not been posting much for the past week. I will try to post something as often as I can. I do miss you all.
Do you have any daughter-in-law's or son-in-law's??
Was it exciting when the kids were getting married?
Was there a lot of food??? We seem to have a lot of food.

Congratulations to your son and Nikki. I have no children in law that I know of. LOL. It's my daughter's 21st tomorrow so goodness only knows what we might have by the end of the day. She's in North Carolina and we're here in the UK, but we will see her on Skype - or she may not see her 22nd!! LOL.

I misplaced your address.....???? So I don't think I can send food. lol Actually, there was not a lot of food left which was sort of a good thing. I am glad you got to see the pics. Do you still have that link I sent you? If so, you can go back to that site and see pics of my youngest daughter (Stephanie) who is a senior in high school. She is graduating next month.

Congratulations royal! You sound so excited and so happy! I think I would be too! I have 2 girls (a 3 month old and a 3 year old) so I'm not even close to having a son in law. That isn't going to happen for atleast another 20 or 30 years yet! I wish your son and his wife the best of luck, and congrats again!

I share your happines on your son's wedding. I got married one year ago in my country, but the offical wedding reception in my husband's country is happening on 6th of June, this year. I am sure that his parents will be so excited like you to make the arrangements of the wedding. I am happy that you got a pretty daughter-in-law and I like the people who always have a smiling face.

I am enjoying my family getting bigger. It will make the holidays a little more exciting. They are home from the honeymoon in Mexico. I hope they get settled in and back to a calmer, more normal life. They will have lots of memories of their house being filled with excitement. It was fun to see how much energy was generated each day that I was there.

I hope you will build a very good relationship with your daughter in law. Do not get jealous of her love her & accept her as she is. You should be thankful that there is someone who will take good care of your son & give you a grandchild soon. Will during my wedding we have a lot of food we were able to spend around $3400 all of the expenses but we also received good compliment from our guest.

Congratulations! Its really a surprise isn't it :) I dont have a son in law yet because my daughter is just 5 years old now but I have a mother in law and we are in good relationship, the usual ones, Not that really close though. Hope you'll have your grandchild too soon and I know you will be really happy. Good thing that your daughter in law smiles a lot and it shows friendliness to anyone. Hope they'll have a nice wedding and best wishes to them. Congratulations again! :)

The wedding was nice. Both families came together and had fun. We danced, talked and got to know each other. We celebrated the marriage of our children.

I have two children, and two children in law. One marriage works really well, one is failing. I did all the food for my daughter's wedding reception, and that was fun. I love the kiddos and my goal is that they each have a partner that is a partner and inspires them to be their very best. I have been fortunate to have two different partners that are very kind and loving. We all want to be loved. Enjoy Nikki and that she is so good for your son.
