Hi there jbaunillo:
There are things in life that cannot be perceived by the senses that actually exist. If we limit our belief to the things that we can perceive, we may miss a lot. For example, we cannot see the microscopic world nor we cannot perceive the distant stars and galaxies, yet they are as real as you and me.
For some, not accepting the existence of things beyond their comprehension or experience in order to avoid the headache of dealing with them is ignorance. Others seek out the things yet undiscovered and delights in their revelation. This is knowledge. Some seek the deeper meaning of that revelation. That is wisdom. Those who actively seek the mysteries beyond what has been revealed and strive to live by them at all cost in spite of the risks involved, they have the faith.
To the heart and mind, ignorance is kind. To the soul and spirit, faith moves mountains.

Very good discussion. My understanding is spiritually we are all born blind; it takes believing to see. When I was young my mother use to always call me a doubting Thomas. I had no idea where that term came from at the time but now I know it is a reference to a man in the Bible. As I was growing older I sure became aware just how much of a doubting Thomas I was. Maybe that comes from being disillusioned with life from all the lies and hurt that came my way. In my late twenties I accepted God for who he was and I felt as if the veil was lifted and I could see. On the other hand when it comes to many things of this world I would no longer say seeing is believing. Especially when it comes to what I see on TV or read in Magazines. It seems when it comes to reading a news article or a story some people are more concerned with making the story creatively more interesting then reporting the true facts and when it comes to pictures they cut, paste and ultra you cause us to see what they want us to see instead of the truth. Then to top it off when you are in a conversation with some people are you or am I hearing the truth. In the past couple of years I have become so aware of just how much lying is in this world. I often wonder what would happen if people just simply stopped lying for even one month. I am so aware they people will lie even when there appears to be no need for them to lie. Maybe they are so use to lying they actually feel it is the only way to get what they want. It is crazy to me. It is sad to me there is so much lying and so yes it is hard to believe in much of anything whether I see it or not. The only thing I believe for sure without a doubt is that Jesus Christ came to this earth to pay the price for our sins so that we can be reconciled back to our Father. Amazing Grace and Amazing Love!

Believing without seeing can be referred to as faith. In many instances, it is better to see first then to believe, like promises of politicians, and other worldly matters and that based on science, while in religion, believing without witnessing it is the case. It is more like the experience that makes you believe. But there are also somethings sometimes we shouldn't believe even after seeing it.
