Meaning of a dream

i do agree that our dreams do have meaning, they say especially if it is a bad dream. they almost always relate to our waking lives and they are our warnings. If we succeed or not in the dream, it can also be a result of what we are to expect in our waking lives.

I would like to think that dreams have meanings. Some dreams are pretty easy to figure out, while others I may never figure out. Whenever, I've been working too hard and long I end up dreaming about doing something wrong at work. Whether they have meaning or not, I love having vivid dreams that I can remember when I wake up.

Human mind has three levels: conscious, subconscious and unconscious. Things we remember are in our conscious, things we partially remember are in subconscious from where we can recall them at will and thing we have forgotten are in our unconscious. Even at birth, our mind is not very blank. It has everything in our unconscious that has happened from the beginning of creation. Only thing is we are unable to recall it at will. It can come to the surface only when we are in distress. The time we are in danger. That is the time the knowledge and experiences of those who have brought us forth into this world is awakened to guide us. It rises to the surface of our consciousness as impulses and begins to guide us. Why do we dream? Everything we have experienced in the state we are awake is shuffled according to what we must remember, what we should be able to recall and what must go into our unconscious. What we see in the dreams is the shuffling of the event we have seen. That is why everything appears incoherent to us. Whatever goes into our unconscious is for the benefit of the generations that would come after us.

as to the Holy Book of the Christians, dream was the way their God communicated with them - warnings and futures foretold through the dream. some believe that dreams could be just dreams and could be just part of mental activity when you are sleeping or because your thought was occupied by the idea that you dream about it. in the movie avatar, dream is the way the main character was able to transfer or able to move to another body or their avatar
