Sometimes the Answer is No!

Many people have the idea that God does not answer their prayers because they did not get their ways. I have many people who say God doesnt exist because he did not save my mothers life or because he didnt help me pay my bills. However what people do not understand is that God answers everything you ask him, but sometimes the answer is NO!

That is so true. You may not realize it at the time, but God mave have something much better planned for you than what you prayed for. He may also answer your prayer in a little different way than you expected, do not ignore when he is talking and guiding you.

That is completley right! Like my mother says, "Deus escreve certo por linhas tortas", in this case "God writes the right thing using crooked lines". If you did not get what you prayed for, it's because it wasn't your time and there is something bigger waiting for you somewhere.

This is so true. Only God knows the path you are destined to walk and sometimes you ask for something that goes against His plan for you. There have been times when I thought my prayers weren't answered but, as it turned out, the answer was "no" because, had the answer been "okay", I wouldn't be where I am today...which is exactly where I'm supposed to be.

I agree totally, we prayed and prayed for a baby, but for years "no." Then with guidance from our pastor, we contacted a Christian agency. Within a few months we had our son. He was supposed to be adopted by another family, but two weeks before delivery they changed their minds. No one wanted him in either side of their families. I know that God, had this planned for us all along. If we had a baby prior we would not have looked into adopting. If we did not adopt our son, there is no telling where he would be today. We named him Joshua, for Jesus saves.

I agree with you, from my experience with God the answer always come in 3 answer ; YES, WAIT and NO. I think we had to thankfull what ever the answer because God always know what is the best for us, even when we say no its not. In time we will see the meaning in every answer. God bless

God does not answer everything its because of the motive of your prayer. if your prayer does not help others and glorify God then it wont be answered. if your prayer self centered of course it will not be answered also unless of course if you are praying to the wrong God.not all prayers are answered.

Again all prayers are answered, however if they are self centered and they are self serving then the answer is NO!

Sometimes too, pastorkayte, it is in the way you pray it. God does not say No to prayers from the heart. Remember David? He made many sins but God still granted his prayers. Do you know why?

I agree with bestboy, when David wanted the wife of the Hittite, he did not get this self serving prayer. But you know what God gives you what you need.

God did not always grant David his prayers. Do you remember the story of David and the wife of Uriah the Hittite? Read 2 Samuel 11-12:1-23.

God will never leave you just like that, He either gives when we ask for or gives us at a later stage in some or the other way which we don't realize. The answer can never be a No from God it is either a YES or it is LATER :). If it is Yes He gives what we have asked for and if it is LATER we get better than what we have desired.

So if I ask God for clothes, when I have a closet full he will say yes or later, I am not sure I believe that, I believe the answer would be no!

Well it depends on how you think. If you already have closet full that doesn't mean that you cant get new ones, when you don't want something why will you ask for it in the first place, just to test Him? And prayers are always based on Intention not to test Him, if you ask for things that you don't need and only to test God then you will always fail to understand the way He gives.

God doesn't talk to people, period.

27 Mar 10
Maybe he doesn't talk to you because you don't listen. If you stop telling people what he does not do, and hear what he is saying then you would stop saying what you obviously have no clue about.

Yes, indeed. That is so true, but people don't want to hear that. And some of the things He says no to are for our own good. We just don't see it.

Many people believe God sits on a cloud watching for sinners to sin. Others believe that people are chips from the Block of God, and that even as God is the Supreme Creator, He has made each of us, (in His own Image and Likeness) a Creator also. We create our lives each minute of each hour of each day. We continually create as we live our lives, so when we ask God for a gift, we are in effect asking our spiritual selves for the gift. God never says "No!" He patiently waits for His Creations to bring their own gifts into fruition!

Really, do you make this stuff up. No one thinks God sits around watching sinners, no one thinks that people are chips and I dont know what a Block God is. And since this really doesnt make sense to me, I am not sure what you are talking about. But I think it is time to say that wow, you are in all of my discussions, like you are trying to prove me wrong or to make me believe what you say, however, you have yet said anything to sway my opinion or to change my mind. I am writing what I believe and I am open to others opinion but it is like you are saying I am stupid for what I believe, and too uneducated to know better and that does not sit well with me. I am educated, I have researched, I do work hard, I do have a life, and Christianity is my belief which I have a right to. I could say the same, that I believe that anyone that does not believe in God is stupid, but I dont believe that for one minute, nor do I follow unbelievers around to tell them at every chance that they are wrong. I believe in Christ and I write topics that express that belief and if you dont agree, why answer, unless with a well thought out and accurate debate, instead of spouting stuff that makes no sense at all just for the sake of arguement.

I agree with you. He always answer our prayers in His time and Sometimes we may not have realized it yet. We just need to be patient and open our heart to him to know his answers to our prayers. When I pray I would always add it's up to you Lord if you'll grant my wish. If not, just lead me into the right way to make things even better.

I will respect their rights for that kind of idea. In my own I am answered by God and I can feel it. Its because we have different thoughts and faiths to whatever we will believe on or to. For me God always respond to all the things I ask. Sometimes not so exactly it is but I realized it was granted. If you try to ponder it why it is happend in your life. I'm sure you had also same idea with me after kneeling and asking to Almighty and it was there then we are heard by what , who we believed that can help us here on earth.

Oh I believe in my heart that God answers every prayer that I utter from my mouth, however I know that if he says No!, then he has a reason that may be beyond my comprehension at the time. Later when the reason comes to light I find that what he did do was so much better for me.

mother of God, granted, request, humble - mother of GOd, no answr yet, testing him
Correct you are! Sometimes God will say NO its because there is a specific time for it. Might be you need more confidence, faith, test in order to obtain what you ask him in your life. Not all the time that our Devine Providence give right away to them. Instead we need to work hard, sacrifice, be patient and humble to deal problem. Then if you are willing to struggle and take the the risks then I'm very sure you will be granted by what you like to best.

You are right some people lost their faith in God if they think their prayers are not answered. God always hear our prayers and may grant what we are asking for either instantly, later or maybe not at all. That is, if sometimes God answers a NO it may mean that its not good for you, not good for you at the moment or, He has something better in store for you. In most cases we will only come to realize this later when we see how those past experiences had served as driving force for us to improve our lives.

Following are the things people must keep in mind before seeking favors from God. 1) Whenever you ask something from God, He gives you not only what you have asked but also gives you what you did not ask. 2) Before you ask for something, you must ask yourself whether you really deserve it. God will give you something if you deserve it. If you do not then His answer would be no. 3) Right now God is busy creating world for those who have not yet come into this world. Before giving you something, God sees whether the thing you have asked would benefit them as well. If the thing you have asked would not benefit them then His answer would be no.

You know, pastorkayte, we're so often like children who want this and want that and want something else all the time, the God says, "Wait... wait, wait. That's not what I have planned for today. We won't do that right now." And we get hurt or angry because we don't get our way. We need to progress in our faith so that we really trust God. That's what faith is - trusting Him to know the way and to lead us on the way. We don't know what would happen if He allowed everything we wanted, but I would imagine we'd be in a lot of trouble if we got it all! If a child wants to play with a rifle, would you let him? If he wanted to chase a ball down the street, would you let him? He is only focused on what he wants... not what is best for him. So are we.

In Maltese we have a saying which goes on these lines. That God closes one door but opens another. Sometimes we are too alienated and we think that God is not listening to us while its the contrary. We are not listening to him and we are not realising what he really wants from us.

Yes,yes, yes. We have all known God's unconditional love that heals all hurt. God's children are a bit spoiled. We expect to have it made all the time. We are all capable of overcoming great adversity, to learn and teach great lessons. Instead of whining and crying, let's show God what we are really capable of doing. Give love and kindness to everyone we meet. Help those we can and encourage those we can't. If we make it about others, the love and joy will all return to us!!What a wonderful world we can create!!

The reason Sarah had to wait is because her faith was not whole, when God said he would give her a child she laughed, she was not convinced even though she heard this was going to happen as a message from her God she still did not believe. However she was going to have a child because God made a covenant with Abram/Abraham that he would have a child with her, however even after having that child she was still selfish and mean by trying to send her handmaid away with her child, and guess what God took care of her too.

Indeed God has so many plans for us but not every time you ask something He will give it to you right there and then. God always gives us something we can handle and because He has a purpose for every little thing He gives us and brings us to. DO not get dishearten when we are caught in a financial problem and you ahve already prayed about it. Sometimes He wants us to understand things in a way that we still have to choose which way to go. And sometimes we end up going the hard way.

you are right! i am not a religious person, i have the devil in me. but yeah i can say why do people always keep expecting from God soon? and when they don't get something out of it they turn away from God... they don't realize how much God loves us! we are not to expect things to come our way soon, but only have the faith and believe He will answer our prayers, He is watching all of right now, the worst things i have seen in the movies and some of the lyrics of the song, something like "why have you forgotten me? amongst the millions did you not see me?" who the crap they think they are to say something like that? if they don't want to believe in God that is different but why say He doesn't think about us, it's so unfortunate some people expect a lot and when they don't get it soon or are not satisfied they just turn away, i would ask them "have you ever thanked God when something good has happened with you?!!" they would go blank and i am not saying i do always, i am guilty of this too :( but they should see that too, when something good happens they tend to dismiss it as something 'lucky' and not from God and when they feel God is not with them in times of need they just turn away, The Mighty Lords arms are always open for us, He is waiting for us, We should know how much He loves us, Loves us all the same! .. oops now it seems like i do have a big mouth lol! i have to much on my part too.!
