i was watching the show how clean is your house.... its a cool show for they are giving good tips on how to clean house and how to maintain the cleanliness.they also teach how to make the house smells homey. but i observe that they use more of paper towels than ordinary cloth towels. i guess i go for the cloth towels for we can still reuse it, washing it then use it again. recycling purposes. but the paper towels you can end up using plenty and cvan no longer recycle it. do you use paper towels more in cleaning rather than cloth towels?

Honestly, I use paper towels more for cleaning than cloth ones. I will use a dirty bath towel to sop up a liquid spill on the floor or the dinner table but for cleaning windows with Windex, or cleaning counters, etc. I always use paper towels. I just don't think I would get the cloth towel clean enough by washing it after using it for some of my cleaning tasks. Have a nice day and happy myLotting!!

i will give you + rate for being honest my friend. yes when we do have a lot of chores to do and we are very busy it is sanitary to clean with paper towels than cloth ones.... specially with your reasoning that you might not make it clean enough, and if it is not clean enough bacteria and germs will stay at the cloth. thanks a lot for the response

Hi 7th, That's true. Paper towels are very expensive here in our country. we can always do with our cloth towels. it's wash and use. very practical. i only enjoy paper towels when i worked in the US. it's one of the things that they can't live without like their toilet paper. as a pinoy i will still go for cloth towel.

yes it is expensive, have you tried to buy at japan homes. there are a lot of paper towels there to choose from. m wife visit that store to buy kitchen paper towels that she uses when she fries something for the drip of the oil. i think it cause 88 pesos for three roles already. but just like you my wife cleans with cloth towels and after washing she will hang it out under the sun. thanks a lot for the response

yes it's quite cheaper there and have lots of variety. but paper towel is one of the things that i gave up when i did a cost cutting in our budget. we are fine with the soft cloth. it's okay to wash clothes. more economical.

We use more cloth towels. As you say, we can clean it and it can be recycled again. It is good for the environment. And it also does the cleaning job well. The paper towels are just much more convenient because you don't have to clean it after that. But it is a waste for the environment. I love China

yes, there are pros and there are cons. the garbage truck does not pass everyday so it can pile up when you use paper towels. and using cloth towels on the other said eats your time on washing it. there are people who goes for cloth and there are ones who use paper towels. i am not good in washing so if i will clean something i use old shirt that i can throw already after using. thanks a lot for the response

i use both, i only use paper towel if i have visitors alongside on the table to wipe for something. then i used cloth towels in the kitchen to dry hands after washing dishes and other stuff and let it change everyday. its more cheaper to use cloth towel as we can still used it again and again til it worn out. paper towels become so expensive now a days

In my family, we use cloth towels for cleaning, never paper towels. Like what you mentioned, cloth towels can be washed and reused, therefore much more economical than paper towels. I think in the show that you watched, the reason why they use paper towels is because they don't have to wash the cloth everytime they need to clean something. Also, paper towels look much more neater and presentable than cloth towels in a TV show.

yes it is economical to use the cloth towel for you can use it again and again. my wife even hangs it out under the sun, sun helps elliminate odors and bacteria. yes i agree that the show needs the paper towels for washing cloth can eat more time, the purpose is to explain how to clean it is our choice already if we will use paper or cloth towels. thanks a lot for the response

I think they use paper towels because it is usually knee deep in grime where they are cleaning on the TV program, while normally they would use cloth towels if they were cleaning all the time at home. We use both. If it is a really sticky gunge, grease from the car or pet accidents, I will use paper and if it is just spills ,I will use cloth and wash them later on.

yes i agree that they use paper towels for the reason that the show needs fast phasing and it will eat too much time if they will use a cloth and wash it every after wiping something. i can sa that your idea is good, that you use paper in some and you use cloth with some as well. i have np pets but of course if i have one i am sure going to use tha paper towels not the cloth har har har. thanks a lot for the response panda

Well there are advantages you can use behind the two that I see. Being an environmentalist you would preferably use the clothe since you can recycle clothe just by washing it. But, in the long run it can become disadvantageous since they can be prone to store and grow bacteria/viruses from thriving there if not properly washed or the bacteria has developed immunity to the cleaning agent you used to clean it. So in process it will make the cleaning less effective. On the other hand, if we use those disposable ones. You are assured of getting a new clean towels every time you wipe it all of the dirt are assured that you dump them meaning there is not chance that the bacteria growing in that towel will continue to propagate in it and spreading it further to your house is not possible since you will dispose it immediately after use.

very good point you have there too rsa. i guess all clothe towels has their life span as well. for example for a month or it depends on how often this clothes are used. thanks a lot for the response and enjoy your weekend

We don't really use paper towels that much unless we are cleaning the windows. Other then that we use different cleaning products. The only time I can think of us using cloth towels is for dusting. We use things like Lysol Disinfectant wipes to disinfectant and clean surfaces.

wow lysol has disinfecting wipes? never heard of it yet and dont know if it is available here already. my wife loves trying something new that she sees at the supermarket. i will take note of that. thanks a lot for the response

I prefer using paper towel, after wiping off the dirt and stain on the surface, i can just throw the paper towel away and end all the hassles of washing the cloth towel again, this way, save me some time in my busy schedule, and also conserve my water usage, instead of paper recycling purpose. I just can't have it both way sometimes. haha...

Even though it is not "green" or environmentally friendly, I use paper towels for house-cleaning. I do care a great deal about nature, particularly wildlife, but cleaning with paper towels is just much more sanitary. I try to use each piece of paper towel to its fullest potential and save some trees by not being wasteful. w

thanks a lot for the response. we all have our rreasons and our ways to clean. i just observe that my wife uses cloth towels though at home we also have paper towels that she mostly use when she is frying something. but i believe that as long as you wash it properly with soap and disinfectant then i guess it is still sanitary.

I think cloth towels are best for cleaning purposes. As you have told cloth towels are durable. Moreover we should use paper made things as less as possible to save our green environment. Lots of trees are cut down to manufacture paper.

yes we should be aware of our environment already. if we clean the clothe towels we save a lot rather than using the paper towels. some people claims that they are concerned but they dont really show it. they dont like to make a little sacrifice to wach clothe towels for they think its nasty so they would rather use paper towels. thanks a lot for the response

I use cloth towels at home as it is more handy, I have bought plenty of cloth towels so I can easily replace the dirty one. And besides, I'm just at home so I can have the time in the world to wash them off unlike if we use paper towels, it will just pile up in the trash bin, and the garbage truck doesn't come every day.
