As most of you know, I want to take a vacation. It will be until at least May before I am able to even consider it because of work and school. I am ready for a little enjoyment. Maybe I'll go somewhere I've never been or try something I have never done..lol..I am feeling very stir crazy because of the weather. So what is the next thing that you will do to enjoy life? It can be as simple as a long bath if that's what you enjoy. I can't wait to hear your responses.

For me, the next major thing that I will be doing is taking a week long trip to an island off the coast of Australia called Norfolk Island. It is an external territory of Australia, but is in the Pacific Ocean and actually closer to New Zealand. It is between New Zealand and Fiji.
I am going over there in July for an archery competition and it is a place that I have always wanted to go because of it's fascinating and bloody history and it's rugged beauty.
This website below has some amazing facts about the history of the island.

Sounds like a wonderful trip! I like places with history too. I could really enjoy a whole week away from the daily grind. Archery is a really neat hobby. I know a few people that go hunting with their bows. Thanks for the response and I hope you have a lot of fun. Will your family be joining you or will you be making the trip by yourself?

I will be having lots of fun!
My wife is staying here and running the business and looking after the kids. But she is going to Thailand in April for more than a week and I will be home doing the work, so it is pretty even there!
I know lots of people that go bowhunting as that is what our form of archery is based on. It is not my scene though. I like shooting the targets, but would not shoot an animal.

I plan to continue planning for our next family reunion, which we're going to hold in Colorado Springs, CO, in June. I planned and executed our 2008 reunion, which we held in Deadwood, SD, in the Black Hills, and after that reunion, I got 124 "votes" to be in charge of the 2010 reunion. So that's what I'm planning. I'll be taking my Mom to the reunion, and after that, we're going to head west to Sacramento, CA, to see my niece's new baby. My Mom and I are also planning a trip in August to Dallas to see my nieces and then we're going to head north to Minneapolis, MN, to attend my cousin's son's wedding. From there, we're taking an around-about-way home through SD and CO to visit more family. If you haven't guessed it, family is the way I enjoy life. I love traveling with my Mom. She's 81, going to be 82 shortly, but she loves to go...and so do I. Oh, and we'll visit my sister in Ruidoso, NM, several times between now and then, because that's where the casino is :}

I love the fact that you are so close to your family. I used to so enjoy the family reunions I attended as a child. We used to visit family in Florida every summer. Sounds like you are living life to it's fullest and I am very happy for you that you have family. Thanks for responding and have a great time on your travels.

I haven't had any family for a long time. When I was younger, my grandparents raised me and my grandmother passed when I was pretty young. They were the "center" of the family..if that makes sense..and once she passed the reunions beacame less and less. When my grandfather passed, they stopped. I left home at a young age and never really looked back. Long story..but I haven't had family in a lomg time. I did reunite with my grandmother on my mother's side but she passed about three and a half years ago. I think it's great that you have a close family.

Why have your renunions stopped? For ours, we use to meet once a decade. Everyone felt that was too long and we changed it to every three years. We did that for a decade and then decided the older members (70s, 80s and 90s) were dying too often, so now we meet every two years and our reunions have grown from around 40 to over 120.

As far as what I think the next fun thing for me will be i will have to be a real downer here because I JUST DON'T CARE!! I haven't gotten into a real funk this Winter and having severe depression and SAD that over takes me in the Winter this one has been a real bummer for me. I had planned on doing some traveling starting in March but that has fallen through. Now I set and try to write or do something constructive and I JUST DON'T CARE about anything. So I guess my next fun thing is going to just be trying to get out of this funk I am in. Sorry to be a downer.
My ex-husband has recently become interested in handgliding. He had me over the other night and was showing me some YouTube videos of the sport. It does look like fun. I thought going to a ocean spot that was relatively inexpensive and spending some time handgliding out over the ocean sounded heavenly. I have always wanted to parachute out of plane and this seems even more exciting.

I know what you mean. I have been thinking of stuff to do when the work lets up because I have been feeling down too. I am over being cold and the repetitive bull of work-home-work-home-school..work...I'm ready for something new. I think that it would be awesome if you got to go hand gliding. Maybe you can just take off one day and go do it when the weather gets a little better. Just remember that we don't have much longer now. Thanks for responding.

Hello! Well, our local soccer team, Carlisle United, have managed to get to Wembley to play in (don't laugh) the Johnstone's Paints Trophy Final against Southampton, on 28th March 2010. So far, Carlisle have sold about 12,000 tickets but I'm hoping at least 20,000 go, including me, my husband, the in-laws, the sister-in-law, her boyfriend and the sister-in-law's son! Southampton will probably take at least 40,000 which will make a total of 60,000, not bad for a "lesser" Cup than the League or FA Cup.
We are also staying in London for one night and if you ever visit England, London is the place to be, although I hate saying it being a northerner lol. Haha!
Something to look forward to, anyway!

Thank you! We're going for the day out (and the trip to the hotel the night before) more than anything but if we win it will be an added bonus. We won at home in a league game today as well after playing badly in a few games previously, so I'm hoping this winning streak continues so confidence will be sky high for this Wembley final. I will try and get pics and post some on my profile as the Wembley stadium looks awesome even on the telly, so goodness knows what it's like in the flesh. There is a gorgeous arch over Wembley that people from the North East of England built from British Steel so I'm looking forward to seeing that. Our game is at 1pm so I don't think the arch will be lit up...but you never know, it might be.

MEEEE? Dear Jen....the answer is very, very simple....FIND "that POT OF GOLD" at the end of OUR rainbow....visit my wonderful friends...all over the world, and sprinkle them with Gold Dust....just enough to upgrade their life, and simplify it!
Don't know about you...but if I am going to travel...even tho' I love the tried and true...it would be somewhere, NEW. Help me find the rainbow...and we're OFF! HUGZ, Jen...and cheers!

I think that's a good idea by taking a vacation and enjoy life. Well, I just came back from a long holiday by celebrating our new year. I just can't wait to ask you this question, do you meet up anyone from advert agencies looking for model? I was so curious, you know...you have a nice teeth.

Since tommorrow is Friday of course i have to work my normal day job, but then i am going to be getting a massage at 5 when i get off work, im excited about that since i have wanted to get one for months now. I got a gift certifcate for valentines day and now i can go get one. I am going to enjoy it very much because it will be time away from work and then having time away from the house chores.

Hi JenInTN! I don't blame you for wanting to do something a little more exciting after work and school! I believe I would, too. I just celebrated my 58th birthday today. The next exciting thing I plan to do will be attend my gospel meeting in March. That's always fun because we have a meal before each service every night. I also can't wait until the weather warms up and we start riding again out at the therapeutic riding center. Kathy.

a world cruise is the next big plan i have. but of course, it has to be with my wife. that, of course, will only materialize when we see that our children are already secure with a stable career. how can one enjoy a world cruise when a member of the family is still searching for his or her own place under the sun? well, going on a cruise, without anything to worry about, is perfect joy...

Last weekend I already did something to enjoy life, and that's take a beach vacation with friends. I really enjoyed myself, though my foot was swollen when I got home from walking and walking on the beach LOL! It was really fun though! We went parasailing and reef-walking, and went island-hopping. I hope I get to go back again soon, and this time I want to ride a glass-bottom boat! I think my next agenda to enjoying life is buying this really adorable bag and wallet online heheheh. I'm still saving up though, so it might take a while. In the mean time, I will just enjoy myself by reminiscing on all the fun I had last weekend!

We have a long weekend coming up and our daughter will be sleeping at her friend’s house on Sunday night so my husband and I are going not to worry about our budget for once and go and have a nice meal somewhere on our own. It may not sound very exciting but it is something we can seldom afford and it is a rarity to have time by ourselves! I might throw in a nice bubble bath with that too! (LOL)

We are kindred spirits my friend. I am over worked too. I am getting really burned out on working everyday and then my studies on top of that. I am going on vacation this year for the first time in two or three years. Work and finances have grounded me from flight..lol..not this year though. Take care and try to stay out of the hospital.
